Is it my imagination or do many of y'all just hate this game, hate Beth and hate ZOS?

The vitriol and animosity are a little scary.

BTW: How are we looking on active numbers? Is it still going up on both servers or have we reached parity?

    Game world seems lively.

As for the forums, well, people who post here usually do so because they have an issue in the game. Those that don't have an issue, are playing. The rest of us just want the game to be as good as it can be, so we criticize and offer up proposed solutions, some of which are good ideas and some are dumb. I have had both good and dumb ideas myself, but sometimes the dumb ones inspire someone else to come up with a good one.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

I love the game, but unfortunately I am an outsider here. I play the game as a single player game and hence have few of the issues other players experience. I like the fact that the game is patched frequently, although the lag is still an issue so it is not all sunshine and roses either. All in all I give it a 7 out of 10, if you can kill the lag i would make it 8.5 out of 10.

I think its the exact opposite

PPL LOVE this game and are particularly frustrated with ongoing issues that seem to be ignored or tend to come from our observation of rushed additions and updates.

The feedback and complaints are specifically ppl who WANT to continue enjoying the game they like a lot.
No one comes to complain unless their fun is being interrupted. (some few exceptions apply always)

Not your imagination. Sometimes you go down a rabbit hole reading forum posts, and then you go back to the game and wonder..."Why am I having so much fun? Where is all this hate coming from?"

    Sure there is.

The developers of this game care about it. Maybe one or two won't, but the majority of them do.

You never see most of them on the forums, because whenever they do come on here, they get complained at. Most of the stuff on here is complaints about the game - some of them are quite personal attacks on the developers - developers who are probably understaffed and overworked.

If you got a message one day complaining that something you made had a problem, you might fix it. If you got a hundred messages every day saying that something that you did was bad, then you'd probably give up and never work on it again.

Most of what ZOS has created is a beautiful, entertaining game. The art, writing, combat, sound effects, are mostly really fun.

Just commenting on the nice parts of ESO occasionally will let the people actually making game know that their game is appreciated, and maybe help them keep going without getting depressed.

Love the game,I love and support Bethesda for giving me the TES series, and dont worry or think about ZOS,..other than that Bethesda should be the ones in control of the game, not ZOS.

there is also people who LOVE the game, and respect and support the dev's and community managers. Doesn't mean that the game is perfect and that the dev's aren't doing mistake, of course, but all in all, it's an excellent product and we should show more our gratitude and enthusiasm.

It's actually an amazing game, with some odd changes in the name of "balance", and some day 1 bugs still unaddressed.

It could have been a hit, but ZOS seems to have some managerial issues.... By now most my friends treat it like an STD when it's mentioned.

ZOS needs to launch a proper D&D 5e MMO using the engine... Start fresh.

    will pay for halflings.

People are always gonna gripe about something or someone, but that doesn't mean they hate them. If they did they wouldn't be here, even if ESO is their only option for whatever reason. I know I wouldn't.

Love the game, I think Bethesda did an awesome job creating it but I hope the next elder scrolls is another single player (with an updated engine) as I've completely lost faith in zos and mistrust them to the point I'll actively avoid any future titles with which they're tied to.... kinda like I do with EA and Ubisoft.
Do they have time to pull it back and regain my support?.... depends whether I see some positive changes, I hope they can.

    I agree with NewBlacksmurf.

Personally, I *love* this game. There are a few things I don't like that can live with. But there are a few things I *hate* that I have to deal with.

I think the OP is also referring too how some people respond to threads "aggressively" and such too as well as in game. i.e Vitriol/animosity.

In terms of the forums, usually forums represent a tiny fraction of the player base. So its very easy for bad attitudes to rub off on others in a small community or at least a small poster base.

As for in game, often or not most people including myself tend to have difficult determining motives behind what is said because language is emotionless by default, even though we use words to apply emotion to a sentence including abbreviation. So with that said its really easy for people to end up arguing for no good reason other than a misunderstanding ^^
I also think negative comments in-game and on the forum tend to stand out more than their positive counter-parts.

So no I dont think people hate the game, but either people misunderstanding eachother or they are simply very passionate about their viewpoint :)
