Trader+Mercenary+Horse in the wilds

In the wilds we can sometimes see a single npc marked as Trader with a Mercenary and Horse. They are fighting with bandits, but when we kill bandits the trader just thank us but does not want to trade. Why does he not trade, nor share some goods in return for rescue?
I think they should give some minor rewards automatically to inventory

✭I think it gives a bit XP when saving them. It's like those other encounters, f.e. when two mages are fighting with each other, we get either XP from just watching them until someone dies, or from killing them both.
But yeah, I wouldn't mind either if the traders gave some kind of reward or let us use the trading option

As for the trader, I think there is more immersion in trading with a trader who has a horse and mercenary to defend, than with a single trader who walks alone in the wilds without any sack, but buys from us all gears and garbage like he was an endless well .
