question about DoT when swapping ability bar

When we cast a Damage over time ability that is slotted on the bar with less spell damage and then as we swap to the other bar (while DoT up)with more spell damage is the actual DoT then reflected to the spell damage of the second bar or not ?
Thanks in advance for any info about this , i want to know where to slot some some abilities

    I asked this question not so long ago, damage is calculated by what bar you're at the time and not what bar it was cast from.

    At the time of cast, the stats you have is what calculates the damage, and the damage of a DoT does not change unless its recast with a different amount of stats.

    This goes for any ability, regardless of bar.

    Wrong, watch your dot damage increase when you switch to the dual wield bar via combat text.

    The DoT makes sense, imagine that your opponent has pariah on. If it didn't recalculate then the pariah effect would be worthless against DoTs. If it recalculates then I would assume it would recalculate at each tick, therefore use the new stats.

    I don't know either way for sure.

    Even more , i tried out twisted path casted on my staff's bar then directly swapped to dual wield and cast shadowy cloak (the morph with crit precision) i see crits everywhere and the targets are stunned
    So casting cloak still procs a crit while DoT already in effect

    or maybe it's because the elemental wall i also casted that they're stunned because they're off balance ?

    Bu that wouldn't effect the crits right? Sounds like the DoT accounted for your cloak either way right?

    first DoT , swap weapon --> cloak : yellow damage hits
    It's only not clear for me what triggered the AoE stun since either wall and path don't mention any stun or interaction to CC

    This is incorrect. All DoT's scale off your active bar

    Yeah, this is what I was asking when I made a thread before, if I should put it on the front of back bar. It's better to cast on the back bar and be on your higher damage bar when it explodes.

    Yeah, this is what I was asking when I made a thread before, if I should put it on the front of back bar. It's better to cast on the back bar and be on your higher damage bar when it explodes.

    I didn't get to test much, but im sure that Proxy Det etc all calculates on the bar you have active when it detonates. So if you activate Proxy on the back bar and switch to front bar, if you're still on the front bar, it'll use the front bar stats to calculate damage.
