Daily Writs: Let us Turn Them in Anywhere

Guys, I am not sure why this is not a thing, but I honestly feel that writs should be able to be turned in at any city. Personally, I love Riften and I find it hard to leave. It's a town that that gets me.

What I do not like is having to teleport to Craglorn to complete writs. I know this sounds silly, but I think people should be able to choose who they want to support for writs. It should be this way in my opinion and also, you could just make the whole dang process scalable. If I have 10/10 metalworking and complete the writ, it will be oriented for Wrothgar or wherever it may be (for the surveys).

Would be a nice dream to become a reality.

I support this, if only because Orsinium's lag and random loading screens are unbearable. I can barely take two steps there without getting a loading screen.

    Wut?

I can honestly say I have never experienced that in Wrothgar.

Sounds like you either need a faster hard drive, more memory or a faster internet connection.

But anyway, as for the OP's suggestion, I'm indifferent either way.

I am of two minds on this. I would like the writs to able to be turned in anywhere for the Alliance you are doing the writs for, we can pick them up anywhere. The downside is, people would all end up in one of 3 cities to turn in Writs, for example, Rawkla is hands down the easiest turn in location for AD, Shadowfen for EP and, well, not sure for DC as I don't think any of those cities have a really convenient turn in location, except maybe Sentinel. By easy I mean, near a Wayshrine, near Crafting and Banking and Guild Kiosks.

Although, as it stands now, most people if they are not leveling, are turning in Writs in Wrothgar, maybe some in Craglorn.

So, not against the idea, just not sure if I fully support it.

I support turning them in anywhere your alliance has a drop off, all the previous turn in spots.

Also I support them adding a new drop off spot and writ board addition at one of the home bases in Cyrodiil. I mean, that is where the war is at, no?

Wonderful idea, I hated bopping back to Craglorn from Wrothgar to drop off writs. I really hated going back to starter zones for it while I was leveling a main character's crafting skills just so I could gather at my level in Wrothgar.

Same. No lag in wrothgar or the main city there. Has to be a local issue.

And I also could care less. Often park my characters in Orsinium anyhow. Used to do so in Craglorn since everything there is so convenient.

I agree. I recommended this a while ago. No sure why it isn't except for the issue with survey maps.

I just figure/ assume the surveys would scale to your level and send you to the appropriate zone OR, better yet, dynamically scale within that particular zone. Doesn't seem as though it would be hard to do.

It annoys me to no end every time my VR 2s need to turn in Writs theyre forced to travel all the way to Coldharbor for it. Honestly it makes no sense that I cant turn it in the same city I pick it up.

I support this 100%. It honestly doesnt even make sense to turn them in in wrothgar. Writs are for the war effort; are they not? If anything, they should be turned into the capital city in each faction, but at a minimum, there should be options. Wroth-gar is definitely the most laggy zone in my experience, and I dont like that I need to keep most of my characters there to do dailys. I wish I could turn them in in Deshaan.

Also, I do way too many writs. Haha

In DC the most convenient place for crafting is Shornhelm (Rivenspire). Crafting stations/wayshrine/bank all in one close area. Guild traders aren't so convenient but it is the best city layout for crafting in DC.

That said, I don't really think it would be a problem turning in anywhere. People that park alts to craft in those cities do so regardless of turn in location (I very rarely see anyone crafting in Craglorn) so it wouldn't be more crowded than it already is. Rawl'kha is already so crowded due to its convenient layout that I actually park my AD alt in Malabal Tor to craft for writs instead (Velyn Harbor has a pretty good layout). I do rather wish that you could pick up writs in any alliance location though - I would love to be able to park my higher alts in the less crowded Cadwell's silver or gold version of Rawl'kha!

I do very much support this idea. I don't mind travelling to Craglorn if I get surveys, but it would be nice to be able to turn in at my crafting location and save a couple of wayshrine trips on days when I don't.
OR, better yet, dynamically scale within that particular zone. Doesn't seem as though it would be hard to do.

This I would be upset by. I want my surveys to remain in Craglorn because that is the only reason I do writs at this point (I have a couple of lesser-played alts staying at crafting level 9 just for the nirns).

Was thinking about this the other day, I do writs on 4 characters a day. Would love to be able to hand them in, in shadowfen. Orsinium is such a horrible place to run around. It's laggy, stuttering, frame rate drops, load screens, a wayshrine the opposite side of the city. Just a sh*t place.
  • jgrinsteadb14_ESO
I was amazed that they designed it so that you couldn't. It kinda blew my mind that each tier of writ is turned in somewhere else. There is some weak role play/story explanation, but come on!

I hope ZOS will answer this question on the next ESO Live. This should have been implemented ages ago as most players really dream about this convenience since it would save our time and allow us to visit places that we actually like to do writs in there. Strong YES for taking up the writs and delivering crafted items in any major city of any zone of any alliance no matter the rank of player's crafting skills.

I dont mind them moving, neither Craglorn or Wrothgar are that far between board and drop off - BUT Cyrodiil and Imp City would be VERY handy. I have phases of just hitting IC - so to come out daily just to hand Writs in is annoying with the travel time back in.

Question - Would people pay Crowns for a Mobile Writ Drop Off Cart travel to you anywhere in Nirn..... :) I would!

I was wondering why this isn't a thing as well. I have every writ to be turned in at 1 place but then have to go out of my way to turn in my last writ. Its frustrating. I understand the maps u get being zone oriented

That's what I thought it was set up as. If you want to avoid turning in writs at random lower level areas, just craft away until you can reach the next tier of crafting materials until you reach max level and can dump everything in Wrothgar. Or craft up until a certain point and don't put any skill points into being able to craft the next tier so you're always turning in every writ within the same zone.

Leveling crafting isn't too difficult with the exception of enchanting, and can be accomplished for sometimes as little as 5000g or a few hours of gathering the necessary resources.

However, I do wish you could hand in writs at any location as doing everything in Rivenspire would be much easier than riding around Wrothgar. Ideally it'd be just as good if they removed the VR10-14 requirements from the top tier writs and moved the surveys and drop offs to Hews Bane.

Great suggestion, has been suggested many times before. I'd love to be able to turn them in in zones with shorter loading screens (the login loading screens for Wrothgar are a lot longer than the ones I get in some other zones which is the main reason I haven't parked my mules/alts in Orsinium but have them in another town instead).
