Cannot unsummon my Pets...

I know people have already discovered this, but...

After the last patch where the Sorcerer Pets were updated; the tool tip in the Skill description says that hitting the Left Bumper (LB) on my Xbox controller will utilize the Pet healing ability. (OK, that's awesome).

The description also says: "Clannfear/Twilight Matriarch stays until killed or unsummoned".

Now, there are times when running around in a city, that I do not want my Pets around. But after the change, there's no way I can find to unsummon either daedra.

If there is no workaround, could we please get this fixed, @ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_RichLambert ?

Pretty please?

They changed this with TG DLC. You have to open your character window and your pet will show like a buff. On PC I simply right-click on it and the pet goes away.

Very frustrating, as very often upon zoning they go AWOL.

Might have something to do with people complaining about accidentally unsummoning their pet? Just speculation.

ON PS4 we just hold the assinged button longer and it goes away (long press)..

It opens up the possibility that maybe one day we can have more spells per bar if they keep this idea.... I doubt it will happen but would be nice!

ooo never thought to try this I will test it out next time I am on my sorc because the pets sometimes glitch and are under the ground and become useless if I cant unsummon them haha

    I tried that as well.

Held the LB down for 5 seconds, 10 seconds, then 30 seconds. All it does is make you hold a button, then the Healing ability fires off once you let go of it.

    *EDIT* for clarification

holding doesn't unsummon the pet, it does provide another effect which is no different than pressing or double pressing the same button.

The way to unsummon (which isn't convienient is to go into the character screen, highlight the effect and hit "x" as shared by @emily3989

Go to your Character Menu's buff list and remove the "buff" and it will unsummon the pet.

I was not aware this was a thing. Usually holding down a button means releasing it will cast the ability so I will have to try this sometime lol

And that's all it does on my Xbox.

No matter what length of time I hold the LB down, it just casts the ability upon release of the button. It does not unsummon the beastie either.

Yeah I am honestly skeptical on that tidbit myself lol but it would be a nice way to do it. Until then we can unsummon them from the buff list.

sounds a bit inconvenient to have to go to buff list to unsummon haha. I norm just have the pets on my pet bar and swap bars haha.which sucks for combat sometimes.

I had it setup that way on 1 of my alts so weapon swapping made the familiar blow up but had to change that after the patch lol

If you are on PC, there is an addon that will let you bind a key to unsummon them. Don't remember what it's called, but it's on Esoui.com.

Another way to unsummon your pets is with Overload, if the pets aren't on the Overload bar activating it will unsummon them. I rarely use Overload offensively, it's mostly to help me level spells not already on my two basic action bars.

Now that's a pretty good idea!
