For an Elder Scrolls title, the combat is terrible.
However, for an MMORPG, combat is done pretty well.

    They did that right

Bungie set a better example as to what not to do.

    Carbine set the best example.

SOE has had that title since 2004, they still hold that title, and will more than likely always hold that title. ZOS isn't doing a bad job, they are just trying to do things outside the box. SOE on the other hand..... well.... just go read about SWG then come back and say ZOS sets an example on how not to do things.

Anyone can view the ESO Forums a minute just to see the enormous line of complaints and ZOS uncaring about it.

Show me an MMO where people aren't constantly complaining on the forums and I'll show you a dead game.

I like these forums, tbh. They're significantly better than a lot I've seen. They're especially better than the forums for smaller games, with smaller populations, with that weird "forum lurker cult" mentality *shudder*. I've seen some "MMO communities" that make me wonder if they're not just Stepford Wives handing out poisoned kool-aid to everyone that bows down to the self-asserted experts (customers that think they're in charge of which other customers are allowed to share their opinions).

So far, ESO's forums don't seem to have degraded to that level. There's a good mix of people and ideas here. I think a lot of people who are new to the game should be able to see that, too, assuming this isn't their first rodeo with MMO forums.

I hear this ALOT about ESO... For an MMO... such and such is good but for a TES title... not so much.

What does that say about the quality standards for an MMO?
What ESO really needs is an Auction Horse.
    That's right... Horse.

People will say, "Never abandon PvPers like ZOS did."

Or, "Find a way to test for / combat Botters before your game launches so you don't have to *** everything post-launch like ZOS did."

Or, "Nobody found a way to ignore issues and milk money like ZOS did."

Or, "Don't buy into a game thinking you'll have fun in PvP, in a game that was marketed as a massive on-going War (aka PvP), until that game has been out for a few years because we all remember what ZOS did."

I love this game but seriously this *** is getting out of hand.

Wake up, we're here. Why are you shaking? Are you ok? Wake up...

I Like a lot of things with this game and I think years from now I'll think about what TESO did right ie armor dies, beautiful areas and great quests. I really like the PVP but it just seems neglected when the do add something it just cheesy casual catering stuff.

One of the things ESO does well and gets me coming back is the way it really captures the TES setting. Visiting all the various areas in one game is awesome. I still play Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim every now and again, but after hundreds of hours in each I do crave for something new every now and again. ESO scratches that itch.

I also really like the way crafting motifs work. Rather then having a different look for each level you have a real cultural theme going if you want, so if you want to look like a tribal shaman or a noble warrior you can at every level. And if you want to chose armor just for the look you can as well.

Like others have said; solo questing, the dye system and the graphics are all highlights and things other MMOs can learn from.

There is plenty I'd like to change about the game, but this is not the thread for it. But fair is fair, there is quite a bit that the game does really well.
