Xbox people... There's no zone text. But there is area chat.
You don't have to talk, and the chatter volume can be diff than the game volume.
But for crying out loud when a stealthed yellow stands up within uppercut range, when you were completely unprepared, and stands there, even sprints forward and gives you a bash as you back up, then if you bothered to be in area chat you would have heard me asking for a free teleport across the map.
But FOR CRYING OUT LOUD, it's like everybody forgets that the area chat exists once they walk away from the city centers where trait trading and such happen.
Turn on area chat! Jeez!
We turn off area chat because we don't want to hear all that crap when playing...the terrible songs, the baby crying, the people talking on the phone, etc., etc.

Yup. Pretty much always wait for people to engage (trade, jumping up and down, group, etc.) before I turn on area chat.
You gotta realize that PS4 and Xbone bring in an entirely new crowd to the game, and not necessarily a good one. Here are a few players I'd rather not listen to...
1) Young inattentive father with child in the background that is currently stabbing his brother with a kitchen knife.
2) Young inattentive mother with a baby screaming directly into the mic.
3) Bro dude bro
4) Captain Tall Tale ("Dude, I just farmed like 200 Nirncrux in less than an hour")
5) Barkers ("Selling Perfect Roe....Selling Perfect Roe....Selling Per---" WE F***ING HEARD YOU THE FIRST 7 TIMES!!)
6) Children and teenagers.
The last one is my own personal hang-up. I taught junior high for a number of years. Now I can't stand kids. All of them. Especially yours.
