Meteor for Stam builds

Is meteor worth the grind? I see some Stam builds use meteor but doesn't that scale off of magicka and not stamina?

It's an ultimate so it scales off whatever is higher, however it does elemental damage so it's buffed by a CP star that most stam builds do not use. Still hits like a truck though.

Scales of highest stat. Decent ult for Templars or NB's as we do not have a stamina based ult and meteor becomes better. All ults but dragon leap go off spell pen.
Would really like to see Crescent sweep be looked at to do physical damage and a unique armor pen of some kind. Atm it is completely useless.

In case you don't know, you get bonus points for finishing off a collection of lorebooks (15 iirc, each book is worth 5), this makes it much less of a grind. There's a few zones you can't get the lorebooks for without doing the quests: rivenspire, auridon, maybe more. You can skip those zones and focus on filling up collections for that sweet, sweet, bonus mages guild exp. This makes it slightly less of a grind.

It is worth it. Meteor is always strong. Keep in mind though:

Flawless Dawnbreaker - Passive 8% weapon Damage

Because of this I will always recommend slotting Flawless Dawnbreaker on a Stamina character's bar. That other slot should be used for Take Flight if a DK.

Besides that you can use Meteor or any other ultimate that fits your playstyle. Storm Atro, Negate Magic (used correctly), Crescent Sweep, Soul Harvest, Consuming Darkness.... All are good. The only issue with Stamina builds and Ultimates is that Dragon Leap is the ONLY ultimate that will benefit from Physical Damage CPs.

meteor is worth to grind, on stam builds it scales on stamina and the only reason its weaker on stamina build - CP (as it does elemental dmg)

The moment they made meteor, ice comet and shooting star un-reflectable it became one of the better ultimates for stamina or magicka.

If you're a templar or a sorc then I'd recommend flawless on your main, and meteor on your back bar. DK I'd at least have take flight on there, and then either flawless, corrosive or meteor; your choice. For Nightblades I'd definitely recommend having at least soul harvest, and for your back bar either soul tether, meteor or flawless. They all have their purposes.

Not sure why you think that's what made it good. It's been one of the best ultimates for many stam builds since before that. It's arguably been the best archer ultimate for several updates now. Tanks have been using it for a long time too, and magicka builds... well, with the exception of a few situational exceptions, what magicka build hasn't been using it?

For a DK it has a higher damage per ultimate cost ratio than Take Flight even with 100 cp into mighty. Most of its damage is tied up in the DOT effect so you need to use it properly in order to get full effect. Shooting star on big add pulls can virtually refill itself, which as a DK means more resources as well. It is arguably the best pure damage ult in the game.
