(ZOS REFUSES) ZOS, an extra day of cake to make up for this maintenance please!

It is the point that a video game becomes more important than your real-life responsibilities. I understand you are getting paid and whatnot, but it's not all about you, you are not fulfilling your responsibilities to your employer to the best of your ability.

I guess this is the wrong place to make that statement, and no one will agree with me here, fine, but I guess I was just raised on the notion that my personal satisfaction does not trump everything else in my life

LOL!!! Fulfilling my responsibilities. So are you saying I should never take a day off? Maybe I should just give back the accrued vacation time? Should I also work on holidays as well?

I have well over 2 weeks of accrued vacation days. I don't see an issue in using them here and there. I guess I really don't get where you are coming from.

Um, nobody said anything about 'calling in sick'... taking a day off in my case meant 'an EARNED vacation day' that I planned in advance after learning about the Cake timeframe. You do know what they say about 'assuming', right?

So you never take time off, for anything? You've heard of work / life balance right? And how happier, well rested employees are more productive and make fewer mistakes?

Well with this now going on 8 hours down time you only got one extra day and oh by the way ZOS has stated they will not add any extra time for the maintenance inconvenience. So guess your comment in defense of ZOS just got shoved up your back side.

Paid time off means just that. You're off work. Its vacation. You don't have to fulfill your responsibilities to your employer during this time. Whether it's playing a videogame or going to Florida, it's definitely all about you because it's your time.

Wait.....ARE YOU KIDDING ME???? You guys extended the cake in the first place because you screwed up its implementation. Now you've pretty much taken away an entire day of that "extra" time because you screwed up patch implementation. But you feel ZERO responsibility to make that right with players? What wizard is running the show there Gina??? Is it actually company policy now to deliberately alienate your customers? Yeah, I'm actually very upset by this cavalier attitude. EXTREMELY disappointing!

You're basically comparing apples and oranges. If they said it would be available until 8pm Tuesday, and you cant play Tuesday due to the server being down, why is it that you feel people are wrong in asking for an extension due to server maintenance? People are only asking them to honor what they said they would do.

Just because something is "free", does that make their word mean less? If I tell you I'm going to give you a free ticket to my theme park.... you take the day off work and show up with your family, only to find the gates locked because I changed my mind. Be honest. Wouldn't you feel a little bit cheated? That would show that my word means nothing. Sadly, in this day and age, I guess a lot of people are ok with that, and come to expect it as normal.

And you thing MY analogy is apples and oranges?

A better analogy would have been if there was a theme park that had inspections on Tuesday mornings that offered free funnel cakes for a week, and people freaked out that they didn't decide to open on Tuesday mornings for that one week.

Seriously, though. The cake is a freebie. A kindness. A gift. Almost like they gave us a horse, and totally for free. A gift that was a horse. A gift horse, if you will.

Yeah, but Master, the [word omitted due to TOS] player-base equates "freebie" with "entitlement". To the [word omitted due to TOS], they are the same thing.

They probably cant. You saw how hard it was for them to get it in and working right. The extended maintenance was probably just them trying to figure out how to turn it off again.

I've always had a love hate relationship with this game. It's all good because returning players get to see how well organized this company is and how well the game works after patches. Keeps me from becoming a paying customer and gives me more time to do other things and other ways to spend my money. Keep up the good work guys. And thanks.

People can take vacation days, or schedule days off for any darned reason they want, at any time. It's most certainly none of your business.
