If you are duelling outside a keep near a resource, I will try and kill you even if AD are yelling in chat for me to stop
No I will not stop, you are duelling in a stupid spot and deserve to be killed.

Any other time if I see you duel or think its a duel I will /s in chat and ask then be on my way

I kill or at least attempt to kill any opposing faction players that I see. Not my concern that they're duelling.

But it is a pvp zone. Unless zos say please observe duals and do not get involved in a nasely voice it is just your opinion that this is a problem.

Its not as though they are doorblocker trolls, the point of a pvp zone is to kill other players if you want and can.

You have two options, go dual away from common paths or get a large group to protect you while you dual.

Your code is your own, not neccessarily others. Interupting duals is not even the wrong way to play. There is no right or wrong in killing players in pvp unless you are cheating.

I personally donr care about duals id much rather be sieging or be defending in a mass battle.

I had a duel last night and I organised it into a very secluded area away from anything so I agree OP.

The plus side? My opponent was so confident that she bet me a cake if she lost, I am happy to announce I will be getting a caramel & chocolate cake this week

    Most duels happen out of the ways. Almost always there will be at least 5 players from each side taking turns to participate. Sometimes people from all 3 factions turn up for said duelling. There will be no need to wonder if there's a duelling contest going on. When you see different factions standing around not killing each other you kinda should know something is up. Points to note;

    1. We are extremely good players. (most of the time). Try hitting us and we will swat u like the little insect you are. Yes you. You running ard with 7 LA and 7/7 divines. tee hee. Yes we see you sulking about there behind that rock. We just cant be bothered to come there and end your miserable existence.
    2. Be on your way or sheathe your weapons before you approach to prevent getting spanked
    3. Sometimes on off peak hours we like to duel outside sej etc just for kicks. (refer to 1 if you are thinking of interfering.) Duels happen very rarely at such locations tho. We like our peace and quiet and almost always take an effort to go off the beaten path.

Nope whether that comes or not is irrelevant. You are trying to force your views or ways of playing on others in a zone meant for beating opposing players.

You are labelling players who dont conform to your world view as toxic, in the context of interupting duals on a pvp zone.

Wrong. I was stating once arenas and the like come people will have a place to duel in peace without fear of being jumped by interlopers. I then jested that some unruly people would try to find ways to disrupt even that for some people given the opportunity.

Of course whether it turns out to truly be a jest or not depends on how Zenimax implements the features.

You were labelling players who dont play how you want as toxic. Then jesting that they could still mess up a dedicated dual arena.

The clue is in the muck up... o.e do something you dont approve of as the gaming police.

Well normally im on TF or Haderus. Depends on which day and what time. We just try to pick the quietest one at any point in time. Less lag and less hassle. PC/NA

Still labelled players as toxic for not playing based on your world view.

Your whole argument revolves around being disrupted while dualling.

I dont have any interest in disrupting duals, but if others do then thats their lookout, they are no more toxic than duallers who feel entitled to dual wherever they like and expect to not be interupted.

No you just want to see me as labeling them toxic for not sharing my view yet 2 factors prove that wrong.

    1. I never once said whether I approve or disapprove of people disrupting duels and even now I still do not.
    2. I never once stated anything in particular made players toxic. I simply said "toxic people", indicating a generalization.

You shouldn't be so quick to judge based on what you perceive.

I agree with UltimaJoe. What he's talking about is basic honest-to-goodness courtesy, something you trash-talking kids know squat about.

I was exploring and fishing Cyrodiil the other day and came upon a group of players of all 3 factions standing around watching a pair duelling. I could see right away that it was a duelling truce agreement and stopped to watch. I even took part, though I was quickly slaughtered - but we still had fun. I mostly just rezzed the fallen AD guys as their opponents couldn't! It was some light-hearted, courteous fun.

I'm on PC and have been PvP'ing quite a lot recently, and rarely have I run into really foul, toxic players out there. I came to the conclusion that the better, more mature players are out there taking/defending keeps and having fun, while the less good come here and spout their venom.

It's a game. Have fun with it and stop being so serious and nasty about it.

Once closed PvP aka Arenas and stuff are released this will not be an issue anymore. Maybe. Oh who am I kidding toxic players will still manage to muck up the experience lol

Toxic players, as in those who kill opposing players in pvp...?

But what about imurshun...only the nords would posdibly not look to kill an enemy on sight if in a duel already...

I kill or at least attempt to kill any opposing faction players that I see. Not my concern that they're duelling.

    Are you a ps4 eu player? :)

    Most duels happen out of the ways. Almost always there will be at least 5 players from each side taking turns to participate. Sometimes people from all 3 factions turn up for said duelling. There will be no need to wonder if there's a duelling contest going on. When you see different factions standing around not killing each other you kinda should know something is up. Points to note;

Courtesy has nothing to do with this other than that is your principle or outlook. I have no intetest in interupting duals but i dont insist others should follow that code.

I find it funny that people label others as nasty for saying someone who interupts a dual is neither more or less toxic than the duallers themselves.

This is an open pvp game or should every1 abide by your rules of courtesy, what other rules would you like in cyrodil...no attacking my keeps if i dont have defenders not zerg attacking..so on and so forth.

Duallers are creating their own artificial environments in cyrodil until zos create private instances they have to deal with it or not. Any1 who interupts a dual is not toxic imo they are probably opportunistic, immersed ir some other reason they play by.

It is not your actions that determine whether you are toxic or not, it is your intent. If someone interrupts a duel unaware it was a duel that does not make them toxic. If someone interrupts a duel because they see an easy mark that does not necessarily make them toxic either. If someone interrupts a duel with the sheer intention of just interrupting it, well aware it is a duel, for the sake of griefing though then they can be considered toxic.

The maxim buyer beware should be changed to dualler beware.

If you go into cyrodil others can and will kill you regardless of being on own, in a dual, in a menu screen...so on and so forth.

Right now people pick out of the way spots not often frequented by the average PvPer to duel because there is no proper dueling system or PvP Arena. Once there is this will no longer be an issue period.

For the record the issue being discussed is the practice of common courtesy, and said discussion was not started by OP.

I broadly agree with the op...however i disagree with labelling players toxic if they dont adhere to your artificial principles in an open pvp environment. If you want to kill then so be it.
