ESO Moving Forward from Thieves Guild

Hey all, just wanted to start this to spur some conversation.
I am a PS4 player, I run with a guild of pretty skileld players as far as console goes (we still drool over Hodors Maw completion), most of us are capped on champion points and completing Maelstrom on a few characters a week.

My main question is, is anyone else bored?
I.am.concerned for the game, many of the good players I know are quitting. They may come bakc for Dark Brotherhood, but it needs to be a really good patch.

Most people I know are super underwhelmed with TG. It fits the trend, add a hard piece of content, add a small map with limited use and a quest line...then there's the thieves guild line which is basically useless.

I have high hopes for DB, would love to see more 4 man content and monster sets etc. But based on a lot of the ESO live video etc, it seems like we're are sticking to the same patgern.

To me this is: Don't add new, edit what there already is, and the notion of adding minimal content per DLC.
Almost everyone know says they will trade in ESO if DB is similar to.Thieves Guild or Orsinium.

This game has a ton of potential and I want to keep playing it and see it grow.

Does anyone else feel bored with the game or have any contributions?

I thought of a couple ideas, platinum gear that has a stat increase on gold. It is improves by acquiring tokens of some kind for completing elite content, and it is bound. I think that would give a lot of us more reasons to.run the hard content or aspire to do so...

Would love to see more 4 man content like I said, dueling, all dungeons have a vet version, NEW dungeons, maybe a NEW class, NEW skills, new monster sets, a greater variety of viable drop sets (instead of crafted sets being meta half the time)

I have not.completed maw so.I cant say I have finished all the game has to offer, that is largely do to my play time not.meshing well with others, and the Trials obvious difficulty.

Anyway, just putting this out there to spur conversation, I may be alone in my.feeling about the situation after all. Thanks.

I think they should revive older places like maybe make craglorn soloable or scale it and make it a place to play again. Or even do something with the other regions to make older players revisit them ie. scale dolmens and include rare monster drop whether it be a super rare monster set or v16 of older sets like warlock or syrabane. I personally liked the fate system they had in FFXIV where it was similar to dolmens but more in each region and had different player levels plus they moved around the map.

Seems like the only thing keeping players playing the older dlcs are the motifs they release in each new dlc. They could do with less motifs and introduce farmable v16 version of older sets or tokens to improve existing sets.

Totally agree. The map is borderline useless at this point. People hang out in a major city until it's time to do something.
Roaming world bosses with viable loot would be a great addition

They should make the whole game scale to the player level, but I am not sure how that would work if a level 10 with 0 CP and a 50 with 500 CP fight the same mob...

I also know it's not the most popular idea, but I think it would be awesome, actually go anywhere you want at any level.

Isn't it obvious from the DLC zones? Scale the player, not the zone.

This is the only way they can do it in an open zone MMO. They cant scale the zone, they must scale the player.

Overall Im still enjoying the game. I have lots of Alts so there is still lots to do. Craiglorn is annoyingly hard to get done because its annoyingly hard to find groups to do it.

I agree with making the regular zone quests solable and make the delves solable but scale the whole zone and rewards to V16.

I want them to stop spending a ton of resources on new quest lines and just give us replayable content. I get that a large portion of the population are casual gamers who like to quest but I think for a healthy MMO they need to give us something for people who don't prefer questing. Give us dueling, competitive PvP arenas, make the veteran version of all the dungeons that currently don't have one, etc. There are tons of things you could implement for the longevity of this game.

    .

Not sure how one can be dissappointed with something they did not purchase. That usually follows actual investment and experience for me. I, for instance, can be dissappointed with batsupes movie since i paid and saw it. I cannot be dissappointed with Miracle from Heaven cuz i did neither.

But to the OP, most everyone i know who plays is still having fun, still engaged, enjoyed/enjoying TG and looking forward to DB and beyond.

I am very interedted in the mentioned vampire- centered DLC.

So, our worlds are very different but from ehat I have seen the iminent death of ESO foretold by the neighbobs has been day after tomorrow since day one yet somehow we are at 2 yrs.

I do NOT want them to stop new questlines, want more DLC and repeatable content and i do agree with possible repurposing of older content if it has indeed been abandoned by the player base as the game evolved.

I love the thieves guild. But of course this all has to do with what different people want from the game. I want the game to feel more like a role playing game, with depth and immersion, quest lines and things you can do outside of the repetitive and frankly boring gear grind or more passives to increase your dps (see: thieves guild skill line).

It seems to me the only people that are whinging and crying about the game being boring or the need for more new content after only a couple of weeks since the last DLC are the ones that rushed in and completed everything like an idiot because they had to be the 'first' to have all the new stuff, as if this was a competition and not a game. Also these are usually the type of people who don't play the entire game. Do you do writs? Do you run daily delves / heists / world bosses and pledges? Do you farm materials? If not, and you're bored, then bad luck and boo hoo for you. Because those that do on a few alts have plenty to do.

I do admit that I'd like to see the rest of the group dungeons get a veteran version. Tempest Island would be epic if there was a veteran climb to the top of the mountain again. And they definitely need new monster sets because wtf zos?? can we finally get a good one that does physical damage?? But I'd also like to see them carry on in the Thieves Guild style of DLC. A new quest line, and more skills and gear that have absolutely nothing to do with the 'competitive' mode of play.

If you want to be a thief and spend your entire game sneaking and stealing your way to riches you now can with the depth and immersion granted by 2 full skill lines of passives (Thieves Guild and Legerdemain). Bravo.

i pretty much agree with the OP. I am bored of fetch quests... I really enjoyed them the first time through to VR1 (on my first toon) but now they are a chore. Even the new Thieves Guild quest... I did a few & just didn't want to continue. My group of friends LOVE craglorn group content (because it was hard) but we have done it all now. I don't have enough friends for trials & don't want to run with pugs.

For me, ESO's salvation is PVP... even though it's the same old map & war, the way players evolve with the changes & strategies keeps it interesting. There is no need for me to outline the problems with PVP though.. we all know what it's like.

My group recently started to do Undaunted dailies & they are good but we've done these dungeons before & they seemed a lot harder when we were just doing them as a group dungeon... not as an undaunted daily... is that normal?

I agree. Always wanted more things to do that has nothing to with kill this or kill that. Improve other aspects of the game like fishing, exploring, more role playing features. I like Orsinium and Thieves Guild not for the Malestrom Arena or new Trial but for the questing, story telling, and other repeating content. I love dungeons and I would not mind if they bring us the vet versions of the other dungeons. Overall all I would just like more lore friendly things to do in the game then just doing dungeons, trails, and pvp.

Getting pretty boring. Even PVP. Lots of bugs introduced in the TG patch. And now they are telling us we have to wait months for them to be fixed. More bugs will most likely appear in the next DLC. ESO is becoming pretty blah.

Alot of the above is either being worked on or planned but remember content takes devs months and months to plan and create, TG was being worked on over a year ago, Orsinium longer... The team isnt as big as it was, remember its a non-sub model now which is why we so much crown store activity becauae that helps pay for things. I'm willing to stick it out another year and see the direction...

There must be sets with a higher item Level than the Hundreds before. Really, why should i craft or farm a new set for months, when i realize that it makes me just a few percent better ?? I have Julianos since 4 months, and farming other sets doesnt make sense. If the new DLC gives us new gear/sets with the SAME itemlevel, i think, many People will quit...

Both are or will be like these guilds in other TES games - and in this ZOS did a quite good job. If this is not to your liking, this does not make the DLC a bad one at all. I like it and I expect that ZOS will have found a way to make DB as well enjoyable. This is role play content, it does not have to be replayable. Role play is what brings it to life and makes it enjoyable.

Bought TG and have been bored with it and the full game since. I hate the layout of the city in TG and cant really be bothered doing the same old fetch this or kill that quests. Im that bored now i only played 3 hours in bonus xp week and i only got 260 CP so i could have played loads more.

Exactly, the TG offers absolutely nothing to the game. So far, I have only enjoyed Orsinium after the initial launch. Craglorn was great when people were playing it. Now it's content is locked by needing three players to progress the storyline, ridiculous.

Good addotions take ideas from ff fates, wow roaming world bosses or elites, defiance scifi mmo add rapid incoming events outsode of dolmens like malfunctioning dolmens that don't land in normal locations and the hooks land everywhere and players must repel daedra and attack and break the hooks. Scale old dungeons up make craglorn vr 16 double the enemy difficulties add exp buff so its like group dungeon hard in over world map.

Add soft caps on a few things that way users can diversify into more builds atm its max hp tank max dps kena spam nothing else.

Make boss helm drops more reasonable ditch stupid trait drops revise all gear no one uses til its wanted.

Add jewelry crafting for gods sake you'd open the door on so much more builds.

Ditch the vet16 gear mat required its moronic

New enchants idea sacrificial rune stones they give a larger buff tobone stat than a normal rune but take away from another stat. Also dual runes rather than prismatic make duals that give more two stats than the tri stat but less than a single stat.

Add a first level of spell crafting with limited combos and add more on each dlc

Add transmogrify turn gear we have into abother style we learned and make it cost like 5k gold it would give users a gold sink.

I'm not surprised at the opinions of you and your guild. My guildmates are in a similar boat. The main problem we are facing right now is that the one piece of content we have yet to do - being vMoL - is kept behind a wall of lag, framerate spikes, and crashing altogether. I can't keep track of how many times we've been blocked from progressing as a direct result of a crash or latency spike.

I'd like to know when it's going to get fixed. The game is all but unplayable for a few of us at this point. Mechanics and mobs are not visible when they spawn or occur, sometimes for up to 10-15s afterwards do they being to appear. Sometimes just pulling the boss causes 2 or more people to crash simultaneously. Some people I know crash almost immediately upon login, usually they log in, check their mail, and then crash.

I'd like to think we will be entertained with vMoL until DB releases. But honestly, I'm so fed up with the crashing and latency spikes with this game that I almost don't care anymore. If I didn't know better, I'd say that the crap performance is intentional just to keep us busy until DB.

I cannot agree more with the bugs and stability. This game required so much troubleshooting that it wasn't until last Dec. with the free weekend that I finally got to play it enough to see what it was like, and if I even wanted to buy it. And I was a closed beta tester... I am glad they are working on the 64bit client, THAT needs to be polished up as soon as possible. There have to be a lot of people who never really played, or who quit playing because of the tech issues. That is sad, because I know in my case that I am a huge fan of elder scrolls and really like the game. But that technical roadblock :(.

Still, an MMO *needs* a strong and ever evolving endgame to keep people playing. They got the single player/solo experience down pretty good. They just have to keep up on the endgame, that is a job that will never end really. And some of the updates should be offered for free, not just be micromanaged DLC. I am happy to pay for quality new content, but I do not want to feel like I am paying for something that took 4 days to slap together and should rather have been complementary.

Yes, after all, games remain afloat by always appealing to their minority players and driving the majority of players from the game... which is what would occur if ESO suddenly became PvP focused. If you aren't aware, Matt Firor has said they know exactly what players are playing and what they are doing while playing... which means they are keenly aware of what content the majority of players are playing, which players are active, and which players are contributing most to the financial success of ESO. They aren't going to shoot themselves in the foot by suddenly turning against those they find the most lucrative in order to appease the most negative and impossible to please group in the entire game.
