Constructive Feedback: Do you think Overload is OP?

Overload is an ultimate ability that Sorcerers have. It acts as a togglable third ability bar that takes 75 Ultimate to get and lasts for about 6-8 Ultimate light attacks. I've done crazy damage with this ultimate and I've had others deal crazy damage to me with this ultimate (i.e. 10-14k Damage x [amount of times I can light attack, for me, approx. 8] = 80k-122k Damage if Overload light attack is spammed). This ultimate can be a wrecking force and is a wrecking force. Question is, is it too powerful? At least 80,000 damage I could dish out within a small window of time. I feel a little cheap using it against people and think it should be toned down with regards to damage or the amount of times I can actually light attack with this Ultimate. What do you guys think?

Regarding PvP, Overload has a bunch of counters, and can be used to kill the one using it, since, unlike some ultimate (*cough* meteor *cough*) it can be reflected and dodge rolled.

PvE wise, it's just a sad design where you can reach top DPS just by light attacking and refreshing a DoT, while having ok DPS the rest of the time (trash packs).

OP? No. Uninteresting design? Yes. How to fix it? Dunno, write down your ideas, I don't like sorc's gameplay in general, so...

Well...yes and no. For the amount of damage it does its pretty powerful, but it's easily countered.

Usually I think of things from the PvE perspective and I gotta say sorts are pretty poorly designed. Way too burst centric with too little sustained DPS, and overall probably the worst DPS class for vMoL. Overload is all we have >.<

I never argue for nerfs. Think Overload is too powerful? Make the other ones better.

I don't use it as my primary ultimate for either of my sorcs (stam or mag), just fyi.

It burns out fast and sorc dps plummets to normal levels afterwards. Also, Kena set is really needed for this. No reason to call it OP unless you want your best and only worthwhile class skill nerfed as well.

IMO, it is a little too powerful in PvE, but it has limited use in PvP.

That said, if a fight goes on for longer than a sorc has "Ultimate" DPS will tend to drop off a bit, but most builds have so high DPS now it is easy for a Sorc to get high DPS parses.

No, and I am a Sorc but I also have several characters and builds (magicka/stamina) for all the classes and I can tell by my experience that:

From a PVE perspective overload is a must in order to keep on par with other classes' DPS.

From a PVP perspective overload is too easy to dodge and reflect, you manage to kill players that: are not paying atention to their hp (distracted), are lacking the resources to dodge/roll (mismanagement), don't have reliable self heals like overly specialized DPS builds. This last group might actually out-burst you (and not only sorcs).

IMO any work on this skill should come (if they plan to work on it that is) with tweaks on several other Sorc and destro skills.

because scrubs overloaded me and i just reflect it back and they die
But then again im a dk main and other classes (ezblade) might get melted but good i hate them

P, not OP. In PvP, it hits hard but is easily countered. It also has a relatively high miss rate even if the target isnt paying attention. In PvE, it is becoming a thing of the past. Really good sorcs arent using it in the new trial. It is great damage when it is up, but a 6 minute fight is too long to rely on this. Sorcs are running meteor these days. Can you overload the crap out of an old boss for a ridiculous 20 second parse, sure, but who cares. Most classes are pulling 30k now, so the overload just isnt that far ahead (if at all) any more.

I don't understand how it's so OP. I am vr16 and when I have used it I notice that it really doesn't hit much more then my crystal frags with lots of CP in the right area and that is AoE.....

And right now with the glitchyness of it I'd say its gimped.

PvP - No it's not OP..... Yes it does big damage, but is the easiest, slowest, and most counterable projectile to get around.

PvE - No its not OP.... Yes it does big damage (Particularly with Molag Kena) but only for 40 seconds, and after that the Sorc is spent. Without Overload Sorc DPS drops off. And with the length of new fights (Eg in Maw) 40 seconds just isn't enough.

The problem is that you simply cannot nerf Overload without buffing a load of other sorc dps skills for PvE..... and this would have a knock on effect on PvP. EG. The only other main sorc skills used are frags, execute, and liquid lightning.

So before you ask for an Overload nerf... just think if you REALLY want other sorc skills buffed to compensate? Stronger frags in the face? Execute proc'ing at a higher %? etc

Except it is. WB doesn't return your magicka, crit for 15-20k (pvp) or 40k+ (pve), and be an instant cast that also happens to proc the strongest monster set in the game, by doing nothing other than left-clicking repeatedly.

You have never encountered a Negate? I feel like I see a Negate in PvP more than I see overload. Also, very few sorcs (none of the good ones) are using overload in the new trial. They might be able to burst for 35k with overload for 45 seconds, but considering they can sustain 30k virtually indefinitely with meteor, the later is a no-brainer with fights lasting as long as they do.

Can it be dodged or blocked? Yes, but so can just about any other ultimate. The only difference is that if they block or dodge it, they can shoot another one at you. Also my main may not be a sorc but I do have two of them, and I can spam overload 46 times without stopping, and that's just ridiculous. It needs to be capped at 5 max.

Sorc's already have 2 useless ulti's.... we really don't need a 3rd.

No other move can stack 1,000 ultimate if you're using it at 75 ultimate then once its gone its not OP but allowing Sorcerers to bank up to 1,000 ultimate to unleash whenever they feel is OP. Once activated it should stay on for the length of Ultimate but then taken away when you deactivate it. People just charge their ultimate on grindable mobs then jump in PvP encase and overload. Scrub tactics that work a dream as I've found out myself. This move is the main reason Sorcs will never get as much respect as any other class as DD. If you know how to activate ultimate and use hardened ward you can hold your own for a decent amount of time no other class can bank ultimate and unload such power when they want like this. Yes meteor is not reflectable but you can easily block it. Try block overload then you'll find yourself encased and melted. I love it might I add but I hate it when I'm on my templar.
