Vet rank removal...I'm scared of the how it can go wrong. Like bugs. Champion points being lost, champion point buffs not working. What do you all think?

    My 2 V16s get company from my other 6 characters as viable endgame toons. I'm excited for it. And as far as bugs, nothing I can do about it if it happens or doesn't.

    Khajiit would just like a bit more detail as to how it will all work.

    All we know so far is they are planned to be removed. We don't know how pots or food or armour will work with this. If you take away VR but just replace it with a CP points requirement you are potentially sending a large number of people who are max rank now back to the middle or lower tiers just because they have not spent months obsessively grinding CP points.

    This one needs more of the detail - much more before she can begin to consider the pros and cons of this.

    Same here. I tried getting an explanation once on why everyone wanted them removed, and all I got was "People want them removed because ZoS said they would."

    I currently need the equivalent of one Ver Rank in XP (approx. 800K) to get just one CP.

    If we need 10 CP's to be able to quip each new armour level, after VR removal, that is the same as needing to level up 10 Vet Ranks. How in any way is this at all better than keeping Vet Ranks and just adding a couple of levels every few months?

    This will all end in doom, gloom and tears.

    Vet gear/items will be made to scale of CP instead. So when you get to x skill points. (Basicly all your level 50 characters will have a shared vet level). SP, AP and vet rank costumes will also be gained when you reach a certan CP level(though I am not sure if these gains will be restricted to level 50 only or new level 3 chars gains them too, I hope for the sake of PvP that they are restricted to 50).

    That is at least how I understand it.

    As I understand the idea... the difference is simple.

    CP are accountwide.
    Vet ranks are character specific.

    Current model says if I have already got three vr16 I still have to repeat/grind whatever my vr4, vr5, vr10, vr13 etc each thru the same stuff to get them to also be vr16 for skills, atts and equip levels.

    New theoretical cp based model, all those alts have the same cp as the v16 so they can all use the same full level gear (and the att points and skills kick in in the 1-50 non-vet playing etc)

    So, basically, once I get sufficient cp for MY ACCOUNT then current and future vets dont have to re plow the vr1-vr16 content to get those atts and lvl-based skilks or gear unlocks.

    I believe that is a positive change but ymmv.
    I believe it's going to be rather at friendly by comparison. Sure, still need to basically mainline new alts to 50 but cutting out the replay of already done vr content is good for me.

    I have myself eight chars, all vets, after already discarding two vets. Three are vr16, one from each faction iirc. Four have completed gold. Four are in the silver to gold content range.

    The notion of replaying those four in the vr4,5,10,13 thru to 16 after having already done that content 3-4 time is not appealing.

    So that's to me a good reason to remove the character specific vr tally with the account wide cp tally system. Note I wasn't one of those pushing for it.

    As for fretting over potential bugs etc... it's a computer game. It happens. Sun will come up anyway.

    I think given that TG has been out 5 weeks now it should be getting towards the time where ZOS start releasing information about the Dark Brotherhood DLC. I wouldn't be surprised if we see DB on the PTS at the end of this month or the beginning of the next.

    The big thing though is knowing what is coming, would love some fresh info and not just speculation based on a post from a few months back where it was mentioned that everything is subject to change. :smile:.

    Simple solution to help them to screw up as little as possible: make each VR level worth 1xp and be done with it.

    CP solves all that. They are plentiful, like ~360 VRs. And with CP cap, grinders can accumulate them in advance, so that whenever ZoS raises the CP cap by 50, nobody will accuse them of adding 5 more VRs. Everyone will be at the new cap instantly...
