Hmm. I think your crafting skill passives have to have so many skill points into them — 9 per craft, I think — before the VR16 mats will drop on a regular basis for you in Wrothgar, Hew's Bane and Cyrodiil."Wheresoever you go, go with all of your heart."0 -
Seriously? So if my tailor/woodworker is only a level 40 alt I have to run around getting one shotted by every passing mob while trying to find a deer to hunt.

You do know that characters at any level (except V15-16) are scaled up to V15 while in DLC zones like wrothgar, imperial city, and hew's bane, so you won't just get one-shotted by everything unless you have them run around naked or something.1 -
Dromede✭✭✭✭They drop in any dungeon, normal mode included if you leveled Clothing to 50 and unlocked its first passive all the way. Go to normal Fungal Grotto - those mudcrabs drop quite some leather. You have to have skill points into your specific crafting level passive and maxed out to level 10 before you'll find the highest material. All DLCs have nodes that scale based upon crafting level passive.CP: 2078 ** ESO+ 2025 Content Pass ** ~~ ***** Strictly a solo PvE quester *****

Monsters in scaled zones such as Cyrodiil, Wrothgar, and Hew’s Bane will no longer drop a mixture of Rubedo Leather and Shadowhide if you have Rank 10 of the Tailoring passive. Instead, they will exclusively drop Rubedo Leather.

I got 168 rubedo hide scraps in an hour in Cold Perch Cavern last night. 1000 in 5 to 6 hours is quite possible, just very boring.0 -

I'm also smarting as a piece just failed an 87% chance of improvement to legendary losing the materials, Nirncrux and Dreugh Wax :-(
Medium armor matts have always been a little more effort to get since they only come from animals. It has been this way from the start.0
