No luck with dropped sets. Advice?

Every build idea I come across has gear that I have not been able to obtain. Most of the armor included in such builds are from dropped sets, these which I have had no luck in acquiring. Grind to have them dropped...no luck. Search guild stores and traders...no luck. Don't have enough traits researched to craft many sets though I am hard at work on that.

Im a level 42 Dunmer magicka DK looking to find armor sets (or partials), as well as jewelry that will be suitable for this build.

My questions are these:

1- Where have you (the kind souls who read and respond to this fairly noob-y guy) had success in finding dropped sets? Are there areas where mobs drop items more frequently?

2- Are there guilds or traders that have more inventory than most? I'm part of a fairly large guild (I think), but it doesn't seem to be much of a community and the store is garbage.
Recommend any particular traders and/or guilds?

What sets are you looking for? Not all sets drop at all levels so you may be wasting your time depending on what exactly you want.

Additionally, working your *** off for set gear during pre-vet levels is usually a waste of time since you will outlevel it so quickly (unless you're gearing up for PvP in BWB I guess).

I only use crafted gear for my characters until they get into the upper VR ranks.

If you can't craft good gear yourself yet, find someone who can.
Either in zone chat (not sure how the works on the xbox) or join a guild that has master crafters.

Adroitness, Arch-Mage, Desert Rose, Shroud of the Lich...think that's really it for dropped sets that I can get at this level.

The crafted sets I'm looking for are Law of Julianos, Kagrenac's Hope, Twice-Born Star and Way of the Arena. Was trying to find rings and necklaces that offered different bonuses for magicka though I'm not sure which one(s)...maybe Twilight's Embrace? Anyway, I have not been able to buy these ANYWHERE.

Hadn't considered the fact that I would outgrow the gear so quickly though. Basically, I need some good quality pre-vet gear and am struggling to get it.

Try and hang around the crafting stations with all materials required and politely message the people that turn up.

Adroitness only drops at certain levels. Arch Mage comes as a pvp reward. Shroud of lich comes from dolmens. Desert rose comes from pvp too I believe. But I see thee sets in guild stores all the time. It's better to look in big cities like wayrest or grahtwood. But a lot of these aren't worth the effort while leveling as you'll out level them so quickly. And lich set is ridiculously expensive so I would not pay for anything less than a v16 version. Adroitness is a decent 2 piece to use at like v2 and v12 but I'd go with crafted as torugs pact gives same results. Crafted sets are harder to find for sale although Julianos is fairly common. And there are not crafted jewelry sets. Sets I have used at lower levels that seem to drop often are warlock, sun, necromancer, healers habit. Then I'll use crafted gear to fill in the gaps I have. It doesn't take long to be able to craft a 2 piece torugs pact or something like seducer or Magnus. You can also ask friends or people at crafting stations to help you out.

I know that the dropped sets are only found at certain levels (Adroitness for instance is 35-43 if I remember correctly) and I do know that jewelry is not able to be crafted (which I consider to be ridiculous but that's just me). If my messages weren't very clear I'm sorry. Sinus blockage and trying to bathe my five-year-old might have contributed to some stupidity and a lack of clarity on my part
