Maintenance for the week of April 6:

Why we do not have the option to transfer our characters to another platform?

You have the mechanics, since you already offered it in the past to a little amount of people. I would pay a ton of money to tranfer from the XBOX One to PC. Others ll too, in my opinion.

Please?

If you mean from PC to console,it wouldnt work. We cant even get our NA characters into the EU server.Too much work to try to port them together. It's only done with the PTS.

When Eso launched on the consoles, players who preordered the console version of the game had the chance to transfer their characters to the console, so it should work still if Zenimax would offer it.

I meant that i want to transfer from console to PC but it should be the same.

Ahh,..I see now.I wasnt aware of the offer they gave you. I wonder why they wont let you move said characters back to PC?Or did you create them on console? Hmm,..this is an interesting thing, albeit a problem for players such as you.

The transfer from PC to console was before the console servers launched. There was a deadline to purchase a transfer, after which there was a date when they took a snap shot of all those accounts and loaded them onto the new server. Among other things, this avoids problems like having characters with the same name on a live server. To do it again, they would basically copy over the server, wiping it like they do with the PTS when they switch between copies of the NA and EU servers.
Main: Drio Azul ~ DC, Redguard, Healer/Magicka Templar ~ NA-PC

Because it was explained that it was a one time exception that both Sony and Xbox allowed.
There is absolutely no incentive for Xbox or for Sony to allow a customer to start on one platform and move to another.

I played on PC and paid the collectors edition price. Then moved to console for $20.
Yeah I paid a sub while on PC but Xbox cut $40 off whatever agreement between them and ZOS.

So a transfer after any of this would be $39 for the game plus another fee.....but there is a huge loss in revenue cause then the console would have to license all the stuff from PC.

Then anyone leaving Xbox or ps4....why in the world would Xbox or Sony give up the chance to update a customer cause while on console, they can market to you. The more time you spend of the console, the less they can market to you.

This really only has one benefit...the customer wouldn't have to start over, or spend more crowns, etc.
.....bad for business is why "they" won't offer it again

This isnt true, they did a PC to console account transfer in the past, when they first released ESO on consoles.

I'm one of the players that chose to transfer from pc to PS4, and now I'm regretting it. At first it was great - I had more friends that played PS4/console (not everyone can own a supercomputer, afterall) and it livened up the game a bit having more people to play with.

But the glamour wore off. Consoles have no access to mods, and because the folks at zenimax refuse to fix so many fundamental flaws in this game, you need mods to do their job for them.

I'd kill to be able to transfer back to PC at this point, I'm sick and tired of all the issues on console.

Raksha - Khajiit Sorcerer - Stamina DPS

Leonin - Khajiit Warden - Tank

Simple, because if they do that, you'd have to buy the game only once.
If they keep everything separated, they guarantee that you need to buy the game, subscribe, and get the DLCs at least twice to play in more than one platform

Honestly I probably would have sucked worse on PC than I do on Xbox. Having to use the numbers on a keyboard for your abilities while in the middle of a frantic battle? I don't have the hand coordination for that, I'd be hitting keys by mistake, hitting two at a time ect.

The only upside to having it on PC is not having to pay for online multiplayer, and the game is a little better to look at.

Yes,you are right.I have been reading about this here, all the comments, and have learned I was wrong.I have also learned a bit more about concole and PC porting issues.I'm so bummed though.I understand the frustration this causes,as when I went to play in the EU server,I had to start over, like new.No mods,my favorite mount was gone, nothing but my subscription and one white horse.Everything I paid for in the NA server is unavailable to me. I dont get upset about it because I know there is nothing I can do,but,it really feels like swimming in unfamiliar waters.
While this may not be quite the same thing,it still can make you feel at a great loss.

I've always thought the idea of this game not being able to share megaservers across all platforms was silly. Other mmos have done it (notably FFXIV) though from what I've gathered Microsoft was the one holding ESO back from that, which is why FFXIV isn't available on that platform.

But if they were to make all the platforms play on the same servers, then it wouldn't be a problem to have your characters available across obe platform or another. Burst since they're all separated, I imagine it would be time consuming to copy everyone who wanted to switch platform's characters over from one server to another.
