Questions about Dungeon Finder, Scaling & Gold/Silver/Bronze

Yesterday I did my first dungeon after a long Eso Hiatus.

Backstory
Back when the game launched I leveled this character to VR1. Along the way I did some low level dungeons via Dungeon Finder as a healer, so it's not my very first dungeon experience. Later I leveled a different character with a group of friends - doing dungeons in that setup.
After that I was on a on/off hiatus, just logging in sometime for a few quests, but still no real endgame play.

When picking up my VR1 character again and discovering the Undaunted Daily Quests, I decided to do my first dungeon in a long time.

Dungeon Run
Because I'm only VR1 and inexperienced, I decided to do a "Normal Dungeon" - "Fungal Grotto" the easier daily quest for Lv 50.

I joined a group via Dungeon Finder as a Healer and the Level of the Dungeon was set to VR16 - to my surprise.
The group wanted to do "gold", what I thought was only for veteran dungeons? I told them that I'm not sure that I can heal that.
Either way they pulled multiple Groups at once for the entire dungeon - sometimes with the bosses.
Needless to say that there were a many deaths and a few wipes. From the key I got we only did silver in the end.
Everyone was blaiming and insulting me heavily and it got me thinking on what I could do better.
The group was later searching in zone chat for a healer for "Gold speed runs", which also got me thinking.

Questions
- Should I use the Dungeon Finder or rather search in zone chat because i'm still VR1?
- Is the dungeon always scaling to VR16 or only in Dungeon Finder?
- Is everyone having the same Undaunted Dailies or different dungeons?
- Are the VR & Gear/Stat Requirements for the different dungeons and gold/silver/bronze listed somewhere?
- Is mass pulling the norm or was it just that group?
- Is the healer supposed to rezz people with soulshards or should everyone rezz on their own?
- Should I level to VR16 first and get VR16 gear before doing dungeons?

I'm grateful for any additional help. o:)

    - You can use the daily dungeon finder to get the extra xp for completing one a day either normal or vet. You also get a little mail with some little rewards
    - Go to your undaunted place use area chat or the 'group up' quick chat emoji in your menu (quick slot it along with 'yes' etc).
    - Join a guild and get into guild chat there are people always wanting to run the dailies (ours helps all levels out).
    - Vet 16 - it scales you upwards in any dungeon using the group finder so your stats will be as if you are veteran 16, so you should be able to heal (obviously it also scales your gear, so if you have a decent set on this will help your ability to heal)
    - Keys, Bronze is aquired through normal dungeons, and silver for doing the optional requirement (usually a mechanic on the last boss) there is a hint for this when you set it as an active quest, the hint shows in the right corner of your screen. The silver is for veteran and gold is for completing the optional requirement on veteran.
    - Everyone can RES on their own when fighting mobs/trash, when it's a boss fight then no-one can RES themselves until the fight is over, generally the healer picks up but it does depend on cirsumstance
    - Get gear now as it scales you in group finder, also it's best to test out sets as you level so you can check your resource management as how your skills are working etc. so when you get to vet 16 you'll be comfortable in deciding what your end game gear will be

    Hope that helps!! :)

Aw it sounds like you've had some bad luck with a group. It happens with pugs.

1)You're actually probably better off using groupfinder because it will scale you to v16(or v15 or something, close enough). If you were to group manually the dungeon'd scale to the level of the groupleader and you'd stay on your level - works if groupleader is vet 1(and you can find 2 more vet 1s/people who don't mind doing it at vet 1), not so well if he's vet 16 or even vet 5.
    2) See 1.
    3) Everyone has same Undaunted dailies(for that day - you can do your daily next day or whenever you feel like it, it will still count, just probably will be harder to find people willing to run it on the "wrong" day), but there's also currently "random (veteran) dungeon" thingie daily which is, well, random.
    4)The requirements for keys are
    Silver:
Kill all stuff in non-vet pledge dungeon/do vet but no hardmode
    Gold:
Do vet with hardmode(it says what the hardmode is in quest description, it's also the standard hardmode for that dungeon that you can find in achievement tab)
    Bronze:
Not entirely sure, I think you get this for nonvet pledge if you skip some mobs

There're also 2 dungeons for which you get 2 gold keys if you do hardmode, vet Imperial Prison and vet White-Gold Tower. Those can be pretty tough though, especially with a pug and on your first run.

Gear requirements are...well that's a vast area lol. Generally if you don't minimax and want to be on leaderboards, just find what works for you and go with it. See what other people do/wear, adapt, get better. There're guides online you can look up but generally it's no rocket science(though I can see how it could be confusing for someone back after a long break).
I'd say you want ~18k health at least(can do with less, but that comes with having to be extra careful), moar magicka, moar spelldamage, enough magicka regeneration to not OOM(Out Of Magicka) all the time. Typically it comes with 7 pc light armor or 5pc light/1 heavy/1 medium once you unlock Undaunted passive. Sets can vary, good crafted set for vet 1(especially if you're having resource issues) is Seducer, a more damage/healing output oriented one is Julianos(spelldamage also buffs your heals). You could also try to find vet 1 Warlock(dropped set, comes with jewelry). The health number I listed is also one for a v16, so that's approximately something you should have when scaled(so in a groupfound dungeon or, say, in Wrothgar).

Most dungeons are really easy once you do them a few times so I don't think this will be too much of an issue:)

5)Mass pulling is...depends on group. Thing is, most of the players have run these dungeons approximately 5638329472 times and they just want to get done with them asap. They're also likely to assume that since you're doing daily that's also the case for you and you're familiar with the place. You might want to tell them at the start of the run it is your first run/first after a long break. Generally though, you might want to try to make friends/join a friendly guild who won't be a**holes just because someone's not on par with them(it also doesn't sound like you had a good group to start with - in a non vet dungeon you shouldn't even NEED heals that much, so if they pulled everything then died, well...).

6)As been said, during boss fights people can't res on their own. Being a healer though, you should be careful with ressing since while you're ressing you can't heal, meaning someone else might die. Generally dps should res, but it really doesn't matter so much usually.

7)No, there's no need. You are missing out on a few things like monster sets and champion points but you absolutely don't need those to do dungeons. Try to make friends, run with them, learn, get better, and by the time you're v16 you'll be absolutely OP ;) For now, get yourself some decent(at least blue quality, better yet purple) gear, food, potions and all that good stuff and you should be fine.
