Disappointment at the Elven Hero Armor

ZorroDeMar

I bought the elven hero armor yesterday, the armor in the intro shows a sexy hero in boots and in what it look like a skirt showing the legs skin. I was disappointment to see no legs skin on the costume only some skin from her back and no cape like the statue.

I really would like to see a more sexy costume, it will be great if they would build something like Red Sonya.

I like to see a female showing her body.

Doesn't look like anything close the armor that the advert showed I had wished to buy this but not look like this I'm not

Why are people always doing this?

You know you can preview the outfit on a character right?

Planned to buy it yesterday evening but after previewing it on each of my female characters decided to pass.

How can a costume turn an tall athletic character into something that looks like it should be playing linebacker for the Chicago Bears. If I wanted to play as Brian Urlacher...I would fire up Madden :s

Oh well 2000 crowns saved I guess ;)

You can preview the outfit before buying.

There are no capes in this game. Expecting an outfit to be released with a cape in a game with no capes is setting yourself up for disappointment.

You can try contacting support and asking for a refund I guess. Good luck.

Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

Because the advertisement graphic is being used as suggestive selling. Its no different than buying something in a store where the package ends up looking better than the actual product.

    Now...case and point here....
ZOS has decided to only allow us to preview costumes on the active character instead of all at the time of purchase so, its very likely (not putting words or thought on the OP) that the preview looked different on one character than the other.

In my experience I did purchase this time as I felt this was more of a female design so I tested it on 4 diff characters before buying BUT it actually previews better on my alt than it looks on my main. I don't like how it looks on my main and there is NO WAY OF MANUALLY MOVING THE CAMERA AROUND during the preview.

So to the OP when you preview, you cant move your char around, get on a mount or even see all angles. Its very likely that someone will preview and say.. O K but then when they put it on and move around, as I did, I said....GEEZ I just waisted 2k in crowns.

I'm announcing the thread title, not the body by the way because; hello, preview button.

I bet the marketing guys are kicking themselves for allowing it to be previewed in the crown store. Another painfully dull addition to the crown store.

Again ZoS, if you put in half the effort, you will receive half the income. My mate and I both bought Xbox vouchers to have crowns at the ready for the purchase but we'll definitely hold off on this limited edition item.

Furthermore, if you finally decide to allow outfits and costumes to be dyed, people would be more inclined to buy said products.

What disappointed me was the cut-out back on the female. Why? Why this insistence on showing skin on females, but not on males? Personally, I prefer the back-plate the male has.

It's otherwise a really nice asymmetrical design, but 2k is too much for a single costume, so I'll not be buying it.

-In my camera view, the preview cuts off the top and corners of the screen on console.
-We can spin our character but thats it.
-I guess we could try it on in multiple locations, lighting and log in and out many different characters (seems a bit much considering the preview could just "preview" in my view prior to selecting preview)
-We cant see above, below, mounted
    -we cant run and walk
    -want cant use any combat

*Why not wait until someone else buys it....well because its likely that I wont come across someone elsee during the limited period as I'm a casual. i literally have not seen one other player all day yesterday with it on. Thats on my VR 16, my VR5 and my level 23 alt

For me those limitations change a lot as I rarely play my character just standing still. So to answer, A LOT changes which for me, not speaking for anyone else, is my feedback and response.

I like the design of this costume, but there are some issues...
First of all, it still suffers from "barrel chest" problem. Like most of crown store costumes, it makes char's ribcage and shoulders broader and legs and hips become thinner. It's not very noticeable on skinny characters, but it doesnt compliment curvy ones.
Also the hood is too stretched to the sides, which makes the char look bald. I understand that the hood replaces char's hair to avoid clipping, but it would be nice to make baldness a bit less obvious.
Cape would be really nice, too. Even without proper cloth physics, it could just have basic animations like armor flaps.
Transforming leggings into pants is kinda silly, too. We already have a costume with hip cutouts so I dontg see any logic in this.

I'm not going to argue that they couldn't have made this costume better, or that they couldn't have given it a more reasonable price tag, but this one issue is easily overcome.

You could just stop by the starter towns. I saw at least a half-dozen different characters wearing this costume in the space of about 20 minutes last night.

Or, there's always helpful players like Elloa who are known for posting videos of such items as they are released:

I like it. No, it doesn't look just the way it should. But honestly, the lack of the destroyed cape is far more of a bummer than the lack of exposed leg skin. It would have been really awesome if they could have made it look just the way we expected. But for whatever reason that wasn't the case. I still like it though, I just don't see it as the same costume. I would prepare yourselves for the Breton costume, that one isn't even going to come close since they are not able to do cloaks.

^^^ This x 1 million. I thought the overall models for the armor were ok but the colors... ugh. Why must every armor costume in this game be such drab colors? Always greens and browns, so icky. I don't want hot pink and electric blue, but something besides drab earthtones would be so much nicer for these costumes. Or else, like this guy said, just let them be dye-able.

I have only bought one costume from the entire crown store selection, but if we could change the colors, I would buy a lot more - probably to the point of needing to actually put in extra money for more crowns.
