Getting farmed by AD at Chalman farm - no, PvP really isn't that fun.

I am a lousy PvP'er, but in ESO it still used to be more fun than in any other game i've played, but as time go by it's seriously just getting worse with every patch and change. A while ago tonight ago we spotted Chalman farm yellow, but AD not doing anything else around there - ofc we understood that there probably was a group of AD hanging out there to farm AP, but hey, who knows....

Well, sure enough there were a few brave (lol) AD players outside the tower, a group of 5 that ran into the tower when our little group of PvE'rs charged in, placed siege weapons and swamped us in aoe when we were fighting the npc at flag - ofc we got our butts handed to us, picked dead one by one.

Ok, so the honourable AD troops ofc went to invade next resource place after defending this one...oh no, right - they were there for farming yes, so they stayed there. So we had another go at the farm, same result - yep, these may not have been very skilled players if this is how they must make AP in Cyrodiil, but they cooperated well and had no big problems ganking our happy-go-lucky bunch...tough luck for us!

But it's not tough luck really, it's just PvP in Cyrodiil! We see the same thing all the time now, farming farming farming...if it's not the sad souls hiding out ganking lone players..... I do pity them, i'm happy i'm not that type of player (not that i'd be a successful ganker anyway with my skills lol, and i sure want more fun from a game than to stand waiting to farm enemies)), but no matter how sorry i'm am for these guys they still make PvP into something i more and more can do without!

It's no place for you really if you can't gank, zerg or farm.....but, it used to be so fun...*sniff* Ok, if we had been more at the farm we could probably have taken the flag, and if we hadn't been such amateurs we might not have gone into tower to clear it just to be proximity detonated by shield stackers even...

And now all the hardcore players on here are all worked up and can't wait to flame lil ol' whining me, which i seriously don't care about, go ahead, flame away - it is YOUR war and you may fight it as you like ofc, so i am indeed whining, but only because i'd like a fun war myself!

Oh well, Non-Vet is still cool though, way more fun without the Champion Points, so i guess i'll just skip PvPing with my VR characters, and keep making lowbie chars for Non-Vet....ah, good plan! See, all happy again! But please Zenimax, just don't try and "fix" it now, please! :#

Tower farms have been a thing since launch. They only work when your opponent is willing to throw their bodies at you for a few hours. Either siege the tower down or move on. If you stop feeding them AP they have no reason to stay.

A thousand times this. Meaning no offense OP but it does seem to be a lot of PVE players who seem to have this problem. You were smart enough to know it was probably a trap, and went to check it out, once your suspicion was confirmed, move on, you can't keep feeding them AP. They will eventually get bored of waiting, and then siege the keep, thus drawing attention to themselves in an open field battle. It had nothing to do with your skill level at all, you were simply outnumbered by farmers who were geared for farming. You did everything you could have done, you attempted to take back the resource, you brought someone with you, and you were zerged down, time to just dust yourself off and move on because unless your numbers match theirs, you weren't going to walk away victorious from that fight.

So many delicious kills blowing up tower squatters with the new siege damage. Everyone should try it.

Just to explain further, do not flip the flag so you can use siege and destroy the tower they are hiding in.

You also have to pay attention to what resource is being taken. Guilds and factions usually AP farm at the same resources each time.

Someone will always flip the flag. This is why knowing to siege the tower doesn't really help.

Tower farms haven't been the same since they removed ground oils.

Well, thank you for replies and advice - nothing really new though, pure logical things mostly, and i really didn't want anything except mutter a bit about it i guess - this is how Zenimax wants it to work, not much to do about it, i still find it a pity - this farming has always been there yes, but it has become so much more common - or maybe it is just that the "proper" battles have become fewer and far between. I used to enjoy ESO PvP so much more anyway....ah well, thanks again - and Cyrodiil PvP just isn't for everyone, i get that ofc.

If AP stuff weren't so expensive for the vast majority who step out in Cyrodiil every once in a while, such things wouldn't exist

    1. If you are getting farmed its your fault. (stop bum rushing groups camping in towers.....)

    2. If you get ganked once, well too bad. But if you keep getting ganked successfully on a regular basis...imma have to say either you have a bad marshmallow build, or you are not paying attention to your surroundings. We all get ganked every now and then but it should be a once in a while thing.
