Molten whip vs flame lash for dw magicka dk

Which of these is a better choice? Molten whip gives a boost to weapon and spell damage, which seems like a better overall choice, but you get that heal from flame lash which might boost survivability enough to be worthwhile. Engulfing flames and burning embers are clear choices since the other morphs use stamina, but im having issues with this one.

I found that the extra damage from Molten Whip was negligible most of the time but the heal from Flame Leash has helped me a lot more as far as solo content is concerned.

Thanks, I figured the self heal would be a little more valuable, even if i'm using pretty much 100% ardent flame abilities.

I'm planning on dual wield for my offensive bar, and 1h/shield with a bar set up for healing/control/defense when i start taking too much damage.

Flame Lash is the better choice. It heals and also gives a damage bonus when your opponent is off balance so paired with talons or a bash it works great.

Depends on what you're doing. Solo content and pvp wise flame lash would likely be more useful, but it won't do much in a dungeon as far as I'm concerned.

For a pure dps pve role, molten whip is better for the buff for ardent flame abilities. If you need health, re apply burning embers. The change to the heal on BE is a great heal. You don't have to wait for duration to end to get a heal. If you re apply it it grants you the heal instantly. I've used this method when I was soloing world bosses in the new zones. Had no problem with survivability.

For pve damage use molten whip and stack ardent flame abilities on the same bar. For pvp use flame lash in combination with talons

Flame lash hits a reasonable burst for off balance enemies. By reasonable, I mean nowhere near as close as the burst damage of every other class, but you take what you can get.

The heal would in all likelihood be essential for most DK's to keep them in the fight.

More heal (big heal at that) > small damage buff.

for pve in every situation molten whip all the way. embers and draw essence is all the heal you need and the damage of molten craps on lash considering the passive boost to ardent flame.

Guess I'll be going with Molten whip for the extra damage. This is mainly for soloing and pve dps, not too worried about pvp
