AVG Firewall blocks ESO login - Why?

Hello

AVG Firewall just started to block ESO login. I had this Firewall for years and never had any problems. The problem started yesterday.
The "Fix" is, Disable AVG and you can log into ESO. It's only the login server that do not work with AVG.

Why?

To run ESO, you need to disable the firewall. Then login. When you are in the game, you can start the firewall again.

Why not just put in exceptions for the ESO exe? Then it wont block it anymore. Should be an area where you can add trusted programs to allow them to communicate past the firewall.

The error is not a simple exception. You can connect to ESO login servers/Patch just fine through the firewall. Its something "Unknown" that makes AVG block sending login info to the character select.

There is a "Ticket" escalated about AVG blocking ESO, at AVG.

Any comment from ZoS about this problem? Any contact between ZoS and AVG?
Should it not be in both companies interests that AVG works with ESO?

Note: I have played since Launch 2014, and never had a problem with AVG regarding ESO.

Ive tried to add eso.exe exceptions to avg, same error 301.

Ive tried telling my router and pc firewall to put my pc in dmz, same 301 error.

I temporarily disable avg internally, works!

Uninstalled AVG, problem instantly is solved. I now use a full version of malwarebytes. No issues.

It is an AVG problem, peeps have the same result over in SWTOR.

...and this problem has resurfaced in a big way. I can only login now when the AVG protection is disabled. I've added all the exceptions I could find (file path, application, URL, et.c) and it still blocks/crashes the login.

I use Kaspersky, but I have problems with some games not connecting due to encrypted traffic scanning. If I create a rule to not scan encrypted traffic for the games that don’t work I can login again. I hope this helps you with AVG.

Could be worse, I played around with Comodo, on high sec, it literally hated eveything, was hilarious.

Tbh AVG is terrible.
