Why does Thaumaturge boost Wrecking Blow?

My Puncturing Sweeps scales off Thaumaturge on Tooltip with 1.1 channel time but Dark Flare tooltip scales from Elemental Expert with 1.1 second channel time. A couple people have mentioned now this is only a tooltip error. It doesnt raise the damage of wrecking blow.0 -
Huggalump✭✭✭✭I tested Thaumaturge on Snipe and it does not increase its damage. Unfortunately I never looked at the tooltip, but the actual damage was the same with and without Thaum.
Wrecking blow and Snipe have basically the same mechanic, don't they?0 -

Puncturing Sweep: boosted by Thaum and Ele Expert
Dark Flare: boosted by Ele Expert (NOT Thaum)
I tested this when making my build for Thieves Guild.
Now just to throw even more confusion into the mix though. Puncturing Sweep is considered a DoT and procs Valkyn accordingly. Scathing Mage should only proc from non-DoT crits. Interestingly, every hit of Puncturing Sweep has a chance to proc Scathing Mage indicating that they are considered individual strikes, not a DoT/channel. However, it won't proc Nerien'eth, but does proc Valkyn.
Basically, they've changed so much about so many abilities now that they've messed up their own game. I'm starting to wonder if a complete reset is needed for all skills.Server: EU Pact
