Benefit of a guild ?

Zyrenia
Zyrenia
I know a benefit of beeing in a guild lets you easier team up with people and the social part. But aside from that. is there any benefits or drawbacks of beeing in a guild in this game ?

Seen other games that give xp bonus, more gold, Craft skills, new spells etc, But ive also seen games that use taxes from there members and use players xp to lvl a guild and so... Does ESO have amny similar systems ?

Yes, as has been stated there are still quite a few benefits outside the social aspect (which is a HUGE benefit in and of itself).

    1) Access to a guild bank.
    2) Fast travel amongst guild mates.
    3) If you are kind of new to PvP you can see how many guild mates are in a particular campaign which can often lead you to a good "buff" server, or a very contested one of your guild is big into pvp which can help guide you to what you want.
4)Access to the guild store. This is huge in ESO as there is no centralized auction house, so outside of player trades, this is the only way to sell your stuff (well beyond vendoring it) and make TONS of gold.

A nice perk in this game too is that you can join up to 5 guilds. This allows you to sort of "mix-n-match" what you're looking for. You can do a PvE, PvP, and 3 Trade guilds or say 5 Trade guilds if you are not looking to socialize at all and just want to make money. Of course any combination is allowed in this game!

    Hope this helps!

Thanks for your inputs, tho 3 things im a little curious about.. first of, what are the pledges ?, secondly. Does fast travel between guild members work like the wayshrines ?, and thirdly, does the guild store only sell to my guild or all or how does that work ? :)

Pledges are daily quests to go do dungeons. Once you are level 45 you will unlock the ability to do them. One is a "normal" pledge which is to complete a specific normal dungeon. Depending on what you complete you will receive a bronze or silver key to open a bronze or silver "undaunted" chest. Once you are VR, there is also a veteran pledge which is a quest to complete a veteran dungeon. You will be rewarded with a silver key, or if you complete the challenge or "hard mode" you are rewarded with a gold key. The undaunted chests hold gear that you can only get from those chests - which includes the shoulders of the special 2 piece sets (available from silver/gold chest).

    Phew.

Fast travelling to a guild member works the same as fast travelling to someone on your friends list. You go into the guild roster, click their name and select "travel to player". You will then be transported to the wayshrine closest to that player for free. Handy if you are stuck in the middle of nowhere and want to get to a town. Just port to a friend or guild member. Even if where they are is a wayshrine you don't want to be at, at the very least you are at a wayshrine so can use that one to fast travel (for free) to one you do want to go to.

The guild store initially only sells to your guild. If your guild places a bid on a "guild trader" and they are the highest bidder, for the week any player can go to that guild trader and purchase from that guild store. Guild traders can be found in groups in cities, as well spotted throughout the zones in the countryside.

    NPC traders rip you off.

The main reason I joined a guild was to have access to an alternative economy where I can sell goods for more coin.

In Cyrodiil there is the Three Banner War going on.. so yes, technically we are hostile to each other. Really though, that's just for Cyrodiil. As you can see in the guilds (Mage, Fighter, Undaunted) races from each faction have banded together to achieve a common goal.

Realistically. I believe they chose to allow cross faction guilds as a way to be able to stick with your friends even if you wanted to try out the other factions. As well - you are now able to create a cross-faction group either manually or via the group finder to do dungeons. I think it just lists the players faction of the most recent character they were on. Realistically it may have been an AD guild with all AD characters but people may have starting creating characters in other factions too ;) At that point you might as well welcome the other factions.

Think of it like the Mages Guild and Fighters Guild, where people put aside faction issues for a common purpose.

Also, practically speaking, forcing guilds to be faction-specific wouldn't work very well because membership is by account rather than by character, and many people have characters in different alliances on the same account.
