    How about quarterly or bi-monthly?

I would love a "the RNG just rolls a bit higher this week" week. You know, like getting high luck in Morrowind or Oblivion.

Events are just too much for me to handle responsibly. It really brings out my obsessive compulsive side and I can't stop playing until the event is over, otherwise I might miss out on something!

I'm 50/50 on this. Possible Bugs aside, this would actually be kind of nice to have but I worry that ZOS might make these events only available to either ESO+ members or have to be purchased with Crowns. I would like to see seasonal events for holidays and the like but weekly events lose their "special" fact if they continuously happen so monthly events would be more for me.

Another thing I would like to see is something that would bring old zones come back to alive again. I like how the Tip Board in TG was incorporated and had you travel thru different zones to complete the quest for the best reward (regardless of how laughably bad the reward actually was.) To this end maybe they could do similar tasks for the Fighters and Mages guild.
The Fighters guild could have a "Hunt" Board that had special Daedric and Undead enemies spawn in that you have to locate and kill for the reward, while the Mages Guild could be something like an "Artifact" board that had you search for lost magical items. I expect the DB would have a "Hit List" board for a similar feel.

Come on ZOS, we're giving you golden ideas here.

I'd love to see a new quest at the beginning of each month that runs for the whole month. And in addition to whatever the quest grants you, at the end of the month a cool item in your mail for everyone who has completed the quest.

Weekly or monthly events would be overdoing it. That's the stuff old games do to keep people interested when there is no more content to be coming soon...

What ESO could use are quarterly events. Say, one for each solstice/equinox... a summer solstice event (perhaps with a tropical beach fun theme...), a fall equinox event (possibly with a harvest festival theme) a winter solstice event (maybe a new year -ish winter holiday theme) and a spring equinox event (could go with a tamriel-ized easter/new life celebration...)

And what ESO could use more of would be daily quests for those who already did all the storyline questing and are starting to feel bored... but they are getting there, each DLC so far had some dailies to its name, if the trend continues we will have a nice selection in due time...

To put it simply, events break the monotony of grinding/questing/PVP/crafting and are always a good injection in a MMO. Not weekly though- that's a bit overboard.

Yes. It is one of the things i think they are missing in their business plan.

When you are sub based you count on the dailies and grind to keep people playing. When you arent you count on special events to pull people in.

Just adding more stuff to the store isnt an event. And a dlc every 3 -4 months doesnt feel like enough since those are really just more things added to the store. You need a reason for those who arent login reguarly to log in, and then maybe they purchase something.

ESO need events, but not that kind as You wrote.
Seasonal events that last a week, like one every 3 months or so.
plus some "smaller" like unique boss spawn (Mammoths and Giants raid?) that require a lot of players to finish (i know, lag...)
    and some "funny" events.
I saw something like that in other game:
GM post a picture of geometric shape like: this and players must do this shape using own chars (emotes like "play dead" using objects that exist in game - all allowed) and post a screenshoot form "bird view".

Of course ESO needs regular events. We've only been asking for them since August 2014, back when they were going to release content every 6 weeks. But that was also with a completely different business model. Things are different now and we function on a quarterly basis, but that is not a good excuse to neglect seasonal events.

The anniversary cake event is the first "real" event ESO has ever done - and it's incredibly popular. People are playing their new characters, enjoying something new, interacting with others, and stimulating the economy all at the same time. We've needed this for a long time. I do find it ironically humorous that they messed it up on the first day of the event, but it's not really important because they resolved it quickly.

You know what else we desperately need, though, with or without regular events? Routine Maintenance on something more frequent than a quarterly basis.

I like the idea of weekly events only on weekends make it have to scroll through all the events I listed in a loop that way obe isn't over exploited for a good duration.

Not gonna like only mmo I've played with no events seasonal or otherwise. .. and no a polar bear or a scare crow crown costume don't count.

Most of the games I played have some ki da monthly or weekly exp drops or quest event going on that just makes progression feel good. Atm I'm at cp cap on 4 vr 16s of all classes all i got is waiting on undaunted helm vendor and page farming once a day in wrothgar.... snore fest no incentive no hey I can gain this extra exp and gold I'm at a dead sea and since this dlc was shorter than the skip tutorial button...

Weekend events are not a good idea. They are great for office workers like me, but some people work on weekends. If you want events to only be 2 or 3 days, rotate which days. Each day should get equal love.

I don't like events that encourage hoarding while waiting for events. I don't like events that encourage people to hold on to keys or containers to wait for the next event that will increase changes of good items. The XP boost was great because it didn't have that problem.

Those weekly or monthly events that other MMO's have I think is mainly their attempt to keep "fresh" content for their play base. With ESO, they're dropping new DLC's with good regularity, mostly with every quarter. So we're still getting new fresh content (ie Thieves Guild that just dropped and the upcoming Dark Brotherhood). We still have stuff to look forward too.

Monthly events would be a nice touch however. Maybe incorporate it during the middle of DLC drops during the "boring" period. For instance celebrating the season change, they could provide a gold boost as a result of the gods power to bring more/less sunlight, etc.

If they are going to have events they need to be lore friendly. I do think weekly or even monthly is too frequent. Maybe once every six months. I would like to see ingame rewards instead of say xp boosts or something. If you give a boost to anything then people become anti social run crazy killing everything to harvesting everything until the event is over. id like one which is a more social event where we can help each other without feeling like we missed out on something.

Don't we have several daily "events" ie undaunted pledges and such....

I want the events to be special and not weekly or monthly but maybe something the week before the new DLCs hit to get us all pumped for it wouldn't be a bad idea.

Part of it could be releasing the costumes, pets, and or mounts that week so we can get a "preview" prior to release. Even allow us to preorder the DLC so when we log in the day of release it is already there and we can dive right in!

Events tied around lore and or the season we are in is what I want... Keep them SPECIAL!

GTAV has online events all of the time, every holiday, even just randomly they do out double exp weekends. For Christmas, they covered snow across the map, and gave everyone new outfits and weapons. GTA isnt even an MMORPG and they put a lot of effort into maintaining a relationship with the community, hell the Rockstar Devs came out to play in the random servers a few times.

Id like to see ZOS put more effort into events for the community.

But what you just said they are not MMO..... I have never played the newest one but if it is like the older ones then they are not releasing new content per say quarterly like this game are they? They may just release something every 6 months if they do?

But you are referring to special occasions not weekly or monthly. Keep them SPECIAL and RICH in LORE!

I wouldn't say "need", but it would absolutely be beneficial. Only problem I see is it running into organized raid/PvP times, so I think it would need to be something achievable over a period of time, not on a single day.

We need events that can revolve around eastmarch drinking fest give us portable item versions of that mead we had in the rift that distorted the game color and sound. And those circus people in one of the AD zones add some event mini games. Maybe do more with the frog and lizard races like actually betting gold like 1-1k gold bets. On that note zeni said we'd have horse racing where did that go? For the 18+ events let us make elderscroll lore friendly drugs darril, skooma etc and have different effects visually on our characters like vision movement etc.

what we need is elderscrolls holidays not just an annaversary...id love for once a year we get to kill a dragon terrorizing a part of wrothgar or even craglorn as that is a holiday too.

The Day of Waiting -9th First Seed (9th March)s a very old holy day among certain settlements in the Dragontail Mountains. Every year at that time, a dragon is supposed to come out of the desert and devour the wicked, so everyone locks himself up inside.
stuff like this would be great and there are plenty of other holidays zos could use with exception of ones that are past this time period

heres a link of elderscrolls holidays and what happens on them...
