i recently started a sorcer on xbox and was wondering what would be the bes powers to use, in your opinion

✭✭✭✭✭Are you looking for dps? Crystal Fragments, Velacious Curse, Mage's Wrath, Streak, and Daedric Mines are great PvP and dps choices.
Hardened Ward is necessary for all sorc builds. Surge is really the only buff available to all builds.
There are a couple of Pet builds. Daedric Summoners have become even more viable.

DPS but more dark magic mix with the lightning skill line tree (forgot the name)

✭Try to level every class ability and everything in destruction and restoration skill lines. Also while leveling wear all types of armour to level those up too, but it's probably best to wear at least 5 light armour pieces and only put skill points into light armour passives to start with.
At first you might find it useful to use a pet like the familiar/clanfear to help tank some agro. Equip a destro staff up to level 15, doesn't matter what skills, just try some out (force shock is good). Then when you get weapon swap at level 15 slot a resto staff too. Healing ward is a great skill to use until you unlock hardened ward later on. Just read tooltips carefully and try stuff to see what you like. Worth it for a PVP build? I imagine it might be useful since you can buff your friends too.... But healing ward has saved my bacon.0 -

PvP = Player vs Player, so Cyrodiil, IC,
You say "lightning" however there are not enough variety of moves to create a themed build like that.
You want: hardened ward, crystal fragments, velacious curse, streak for sure. You'll wanna level up all skill lines as you continue0 -

Depends what you like to do in pvp. If you're one of those sorcs that likes to kite groups around rocks solo then you're better off with healing ward. If you prefer small group play then combat prayer is good, esp if your small group already has a healer. It takes 3 or 4 spams of combat prayer to go from low hp to full hp, so healing ward is much more efficient at this, but you still have hardened ward to halt incoming damage. The 8% damage buff from combat prayer is noticeable though.PC | EU0
