I didn't realize that I hadn't made this change in such a long time until I made it...

When ESO launched, after the Beta, I took my new character into Daggerfall and I just felt like I was home. It was a wonderful and surreal feeling. I had so long yearned to return to Daggerfall and the dream of an Elder Scrolls MMO was finally realized. That day, I took a screenshot and set it as my desktop background because I wanted to see my "home" even when I wasn't playing ESO.
I still get that feeling every time I visit that old city and I have looked at this background day in and day out for two years. To this day, seeing this image still gives the same feelings of comfort and familiarity that is always has.

But today, I changed my desktop background.

It was only after I set the image as my desktop did I realize it had been that one screenshot of Daggerfall had been my wallpaper for the past two years. The feelings of adventure, excitement, wonder and mystique I once felt when I saw the Daggerfall wallpaper were no longer there... but they are definitely there for this game...
And I think, to me, this change is more momentous and more significant than the simple change of a desktop's background.
