...I feel like that would be a massive slap in the face to the master crafters who've already spent months of time on completing research for gear and weapons.

I mean, it'd be nice, don't get me wrong. Still seems unfair, though.

Why not. For the cost of say 10,000 crowns.

Meet the LOST family: CP 1250+
Easily Lost Crafter - lvl 50 - Sorcerer Orc ( knows all traits and most styles )
    Easily Lost-W - lvl 50 - Warden Imperial
Forever Lost - lvl 50 Sorcerer

CROWN CRATES: It doesn't affect gameplay, it's not mandatory, it's cosmetic only. If it helps to support the game and ZOS, I support it! Say YES to crown crates.

Im an ESO plus member and thats why i suggested it.

When a new item goes on sale and it is better than the previous version people dont go back to a shop to complain that the item they bought a while ago is not as good as the new one do they?

Plenty of people probably would be tempted to buy one or two of said scrolls if they knocked a few days off the time to research - i dont know many people who WANT to wait 30 odd days for their last trait to research.

it is worth considering at the very least imo.

Around here they do. Did you miss all the brouhaha over vamp/werewolves and the glass crafting motif/material being put on the store? If something is perceived to take time or effort, you better believe the ones already with it will make an uproar over it being sold.

The only way they could get away with it is to create a craftable version in-game that works better. Maybe food that makes you ''smarter'' or something? Like the gloves from Skyrim that enhanced smithing, or the potions that boosted enchanting.

Actually, that's not a half bad idea. Instead of the scroll reducing the research time, it could apply an extra trait to all items in that crafting skill for an amount of time. You'd still have to do the research in the end, but if you really needed that extra trait at that moment, just pop the scroll and you're good.

Well we already have 50% XP scrolls, so why not a 50% research time reduction scroll?
