Here is something I don't get about Emperor in AvA

Each faction has a leader? The whole idea around the three factions is they're fighting for control of Cyrodiil....Why would the player become the Emperor and not the actual Faction leader?

Each Faction has a current Ruler

For example the current ruler of Daggerfall Covenant is High King Emeric

If DC took over Cyrodiil it would stand to reason that he would be Emperor not the actual player with the most AP.

He is asking why the player becomes Emperor when they are fighting under the banner of Emeric/Jorunn/Ayrenn.

To anwser your question, OP: read this. http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Interregnum Basically this period in history is full of a bunch of Warlords trying to claim the ruby throne. Eventually Tiber Septim shows up and kicks the *** out of everyone.

Yea i get that..but the player is actually fighting under whatever the current king of their faction is....The actual Faction Leader would become emperor

Does this inconsistency affect your immersion? Matt Firor might be willing to look into it if it does.

Lag ruins my immersion too, hopefully they will fix that.

Although you're aligned with a specific alliance, you never technically join their military. I always saw the players as being more aligned to their guilds (or what the lore would call war bands) rather than the leader of the faction itself. Which explains why/how you can claim a keep on behalf of your guild, and how you can claim Emperorship for yourself. Even the various faction leaders see you more as an added assistance and not part of their official army... they don't invite you to sit in on war councils or plan strategy.. they just have you clean up the messes they or their allies make...

minor edit: You're also claiming ownership of the throne by right of conquest, which is exactly how Tiber gets it as well.

Why wouldn't each faction, after becoming emperor, march on the imperial city and sit on the ruby throne?

That was the one thing I was looking forward to when they added the imperial city but no. You can't sit on the throne. There's a stupid, useless PvE dungeon in the way. Get that crap out of the IC and turn Imperial City into a real PvP zone.

Does it really matter ? Not like any one keeps it for long or that it actually means anything.
