Granted, I'm going to be playing a LOT while this is going on, which is obviously the intention. But I have to say that after socking us with a couple $40.00 convenience items (the banker and merchant) I'm a little shocked that we're only being thrown this tiny bone. Like, really ZOS? Not even a costume? No special world boss or event? Color me disappointed.

To each his own. The things those other games due are shoddy wastes of time to me. I don't feel any better about them after getting my Santa Hat, anniversary prize or other meaningless garbage I won't use or remember until the next year rolls around. I'll take the quarterly updates over meaningless rewards and celebrations any day. Playing a game I like is enough validation for me.7 -

It's not an overreaction. You see, Op went on to say that the company was stingy and how dissapointed she was that ZoS didn't give her as much as some other games would. Could have just popped in to say, "Hey, thanks for the Exp scroll, I think it would be cool to do costumes and things for these events, discuss."
Op is an rp'r, what of all the damned costumes that have been given freely for just questing in both the vanilla content and new updates? And about those updates, getting pretty regular these days, aren't they? Easy to ignore stuff like that when we're clamoring for more, more, more at every turn. Eat the cake, or don't.

So when I'm looking for a dungeon group there's no one available because everyone is having snowball fights in the main city or off sledding or whatever.
With the XP buff people will actually play the game during the anniversary week. There will be more people running group dungeons, in Cyrodiil and IC, running around in public dungeons or doing world bosses, etc. Next week looks like it's going to be lots of fun, I plan on putting other games aside and living in Tamriel the entire time.

I have been subbed since day 1 as well and I think this is a pretty good reward. Especially since it is what I believe to an introduction of the in game events. Double XP for an entire week along with a commemorative memento is nice. Yes it would be nice to get some other things but this is a good start. I would imagine future in game events will reward us with costumes (hopefully pets and mounts as well) but for now I am content.2 -
