Cazic✭✭✭✭✭On the other hand, if you're an ESO Plus subscriber and have been saving up Crowns, a few months worth isn't too bad for the convenience of an assistant. I'd feel more like I was being rewarded for subscribing if I saved up the crowns; not like I was forking over an extra 50 bucks.
Still, I agree 5,000 is high. 2,500 would be better.2 -

If I am to be 100% honest, I do prefer that they put a stupidly high price on some useless stuff that I would never feel tempted to buy than on DLC, so there's that.

Um, there are mounts that cost more than TG. And fancy mounts are completely useless vanity items if you already have a horse. Your analysis is very superficial. I see tons of players riding crown store mounts, so the value of crowns must be considered pretty low for people to spend 2k crowns on window dressing.
The assistants will be useful for long after people have lost any interest in TG. The assistants will bring value for many years.
Useless motifs cost 5k. There are new motifs every few months such that if you want to use all the motifs you possess, you will probably have to use all your character slots and have each piece be a different motif. Yet some people payed 5k for such motifs.
If you don't want one, good for you. But enough with the shallow arguments.1 -
