Drugs had to have been a factor when they did the assistant pricing like who the hell pays 5k crowns for that. I'll wait for the half price sale.

I really foresee a slippery slope if they start selling race changes. All it will take is a 'balance' change to the game or to races for them to instantly be awash in cash, and in my view that is a predatory practice and turns me off to MMO's that behave in that manner. There are more honorable ways for them to seek income. In my view if a race is poorly balanced they should be obligated to fix that imbalance. Part of the reason we pay them is to maintain a balanced, enjoyable game.

I'm not sure that would be as big a problem as you portray. Sure, there's plenty of min-maxers who dont care what they look like and would buy race changes all the time to be flavor of the month, but there's no change that would make me stop playing as a khajiit. A lot of players have their preferred or favorite races in the elder scrolls series, and will stick with it regardless of stats: just look at any argonian player in ESO right now.

I love khajiit, not going to change my race ever, but I definitely want to be able to change my character name and appearance.

I don't like predatory pvp-shifting rules changes that are used to generate income. Its lazy design upon the developers part, and rewards them for doing what really shouldn't be their job. They should strive for equality/balance. Anything which gives an instant power boost for 5k crowns is a bad idea, and race changing could be that. I've seen it before in other games and it puts a bad taste in my mouth. There's a reason all but a tiny remnant of the Year 1 and year 2 pvp'ers from STO have left the game or became hyper-casual. Those same players would have remained pumped about the game if the game itself didn't become a p2w-fest to keep up with the latest OP gimmick that Perfect World wanted to sell.
