Monster Set Helm Drops

For the Monster set helms to drop, obviously it has to be on Vet mode, but do you also need to do the chalenge that the undaunted gives to get the helm to drop, or could it drop regardless if you read the book to make it hard mode on final boss, or keep 3 add's up etc... I'm talking about like if your farming for a particular helm for a monster set.

✭✭All you have to do is kill the last boss on Veteran difficulty and you can have a helmet drop, the Undaunted "hard modes" make no difference.2 -
