Thieves Troves?

I currently am on ps4 and have spent hours searching every nook and cranny on multiple maps and zones for thieves troves but have yet to find more than one. Am I just unlucky or are these things incredibly difficult to find? May I also suggest changing the color of the glow to white or blue so that they don't look like lore books? I've gotten excited far too many times only to get closer and realize it's just another lore book.

They are out there, just not as easy to find anymore. I find at least one per day as I am venturing through different areas. Just think how excited you will be when you do actually find one.

Honestly, I've been waiting to start the Thieves Guild questline to level a new character, but I find them pretty regularly. I found four or five over the weekend and two yesterday. Most of them were just filled with a few potions, some lockpicks, etc., although one had a very nice hood. Maybe I'm just RNG lucky or maybe you find more if you're not looking for them.

Here's a thought: Don't look in the cities. If any spawn in the cities, they will be found fast. I found two of mine next to remote crafting stations. Another was outside a daedric shrine. And another was in Rivenspire, near one of the anchors.

In fact, I don't think I've ever seen one in a city.

Think I've found only 4 troves thus far and got a ring of darkstride and lightning staff of Night Mother's embrace in 2 them.
My advice, search dock areas or along the coast line.

They should have made them more worthwhile when they rebalanced how frequent you encounter them. They did that with safeboxes. Made them occure more often, but reduced the value of the content. They nerfed how frequent we find troves, but didnt increase the value of the content.

Right now, they are not worth looking for. It's a great shame if you ask me.

There were plenty of them, but that was too many and really it was. They fixed it and not they are rare and considering the loot, not really worth taking the time to search for them. I just grab them if i happen to see them. Either the loot in them need to be a lot better or make them spawn more than they are now.

I find them all the time while doing questing... usually they're in areas I didn't normally look or have found some in plain sight yet nobody seems to realize the blue glowing thingy making noise isn't an Enchanting aspect rune... either that or none of them have the TG DLC. Strange when I find them in plain sight, but I do find them frequently... yesterday I came across probably four or five while doing quests... of course some were found because I intentionally went off the beaten path in search of either treasure chests or TG chests. I have found most of them contain fairly worthless material- that is- if you consider that Laundering these misc items raised your Legerdemain skills fairly quickly. On the flip side, I've also found treasure maps that I've Laundered and sold for some decent gold.

I run into one or two each day questing. Sometimes annoying when I do that with one of my "honest" characters, because then I leave them be and carry on...

But yeah, the ones thazt spawn in cities (and indeed, they exist, not common, but they are there...) usually get found at once and emptied. Out in the wilds chances are better.

And agreed, a differently colored glow would have been neat... or better yet, no glow at all, and let people find them on their own.

I see them in cities, but not all that often.

I have also found that the ones I find in the leveling zones do not have as much stuff as the ones in the Silver and Gold zones. So, I leave those behind, unless I am on a character that has not found one yet, so I can at least start working on TG Achievements (like the Fencing ones)

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

It has been in the leveling zones that I've found the awesome Cyrodiil treasure maps that I make a lot of money off of. ;)

People that complain about not finding them, makes me wonder where they're searching... because like I mentioned before, I normally snag a few of these each day just doing normal questing- although it does sometimes require venturing off roadways but I've also found some really awesome locations this way too... which I never would have seen if the TG Troves hadn't been added, giving me incentive to venture out more.

I make it a point to search in remote places and I've found more than 100 treasure chests while searching for the troves it's a shame the loot isn't worth as much as it should be. I think I might just stick to pickpocketing and raiding the homes of npcs for some cash.

I find one almost every quest in enemy areas/camps/etc. One Orc camp in Grahtwood had two, and I found a third on the way back to the way shrine in an abandoned tent. Gotta listen for that chord playing.

Go through questing areas, places you used to find quests or are quest objectives. I don't have the DLC, but I see a LOT of those chests everywhere I go while farming and leveling, I past about 20 of them just today.
