MMO devs always work to fix problems, but since we are not privy to what is going on behind the scenes and most of us are not gaming programmers, we have absolutely no idea how complex or detailed these 'problems' entail especially with a game so massive as ESO. ... But let's further be realistic and say that 'promises' made when the game was launched should be balanced with the reality that sometimes what you WANT to do, does not turn out to be what you CAN do... and it wouldn't surprise me if either the game engine or developer talent don't have what it takes to turn those 'promises' into reality.

I see two types of posts on these forums, generally from either PVPer's or PVE/RP/casuals. The ones who don't complain are the ones who spend 2 hours on this game a week in some secluded corner of the map where the server has 0 issues rendering because its you, a tree, and a mudcrab. So why would you complain? Of course theres no reason YOU would have issues. So that makes everything about this game OK? Working as intended?

I think that's a perfect reason to come here and vent
WELL Regardless of the merits at all of public venting, I wonder why the urge to go to GENERAL where you know a lot of those folks you dismissed, the 2hr exiles, are instead of to the whole forum PVP section. Venting to like minded floks who have shared experiences seems a lot more productive than repeatably doing it in a crowd of folks with different views. The lines between venting and inflicting, between release and agenda lay in there somewhere. Not sure where you fall.

People shouldn't delude themselves into thinking their experience is everyone's experience. You are exasperated with the game. I am quite satisfied with the game. It isn't about defending ZOS. It is about how we all feel about the game.
My main complaint is the unending skill rebalancing. I would like to see that stop. I don't ask them to stop it because I understand that they want to be responsive to (unending) complaints from PvP players about Cyrodiil balance. I'm not going to start a thread pretending that everyone should complain about skill rebalancing and everyone should tell ZOS to leave skill alone because I understand that there are other people with different opinions.
Does Cyrodiil have perfomance issues. Sure. I experienced some when I played this week, though it was improved from 2 months ago. Is that a big deal for me? Not at all. Cyrodiil is a minor activity for me. I was just there to unlock skills. So long as they keep putting out DLC and keep having periodic sales of 5500 crowns for $24, I'll be fine with the game.
so explain to me why it would be ok that only "Some" peoples experience is ok and "working as intended" and the other peoples experience is broken and laggy as all-get-out and why that's an OK thing.
Casual players don't complain cause what you have works; we complain because what we have doesn't.

So the game has an option for people who don't want to play casually...GREAT! PVP zone? Awesome!....but sorry, You will not be able to really enjoy it because whenever you want to play you will have to do it in 20 FPS or lower at a ping of 500+ with skills that are not balanced to make a fight not feel one sided and with skills that have in some cases been broken for well over a year.
When you go to work and only do half your job do you expect to get a pat on the back and an atta-boy! from the boss? I think that's a perfect reason to come here and vent and complain to ZOS that what they are doing is sub-par. Sadly, this is the only place where people can come to tell ZOS the issues, because they have not listened to the PVP community. AND THEY STILL DON'T LISTEN TO US HERE EITHER

I can deny it because I dont see the lag. And I dont have to realize anything. You have no idea how the game is going to be effected with a new DLC,and you know it.Even if you wont admit it.You just want to sound like you know a lot.
Some of us want to whine about everything. That's just what they do.They cant find anything positive to say,and it makes me wonder why they're even playing ESO.
Others, for the most part love it and if they want to defend it against those who seem to want it to tank,it's their right.
Go on,laugh all you want.Who are you anyway.
Then you're deluding yourself for the sake of defending Zos no matter the cost.I can deny it because I dont see the lag. And I dont have to realize anything.

That, my friend, is tough love criticism. I know it's hard for you pvers to comprehend, but bare with me. We actually care about the game. This game has the potential to be a great mmo. But Eso won't reach that potential if they constantly make the game preform worse. That's why we're so hard on them, we want the game to succeed. But catering to the pvers, or any placerbase for that matter is not the way to go.Some of us want to whine about everything. That's just what they do.They cant find anything positive to say,and it makes me wonder why they're even playing ESO.
And more power to them. But that shouldn't excuse them for ignoring the problems of the game.Others, for the most part love it and if they want to defend it against those who seem to want it to tank,it's their right.

PVPers vent in forums other than the PVP ones in the hopes that the Devs will see it. We do this because it has become clear that they don't listen to us let alone read anything in the PVP forums. It also reaches a larger reader base. If more people know about the current issues of the game, maybe the Dev's will push harder to do something about it? It has become clear to us however that they will cater to the casual player more since they are ZOS's cash-cow. If the cash-cow knows its being raised only for its beef, maybe it will begin to take issue with its eventual slaughter; if you catch my metaphor.

It isn't a case of players denying that lag is starting to affect PvE as stating that they haven't experienced it themselves. A lot of players simply don't have any performance issues with the game, and while they entirely understand that some players do - especially PvPers - and are keen for such issues to be fixed, they dislike generalisations being made about the issues and the implication that those like themselves who report having no issues are in some way being dishonest or delusioned.

This. When I kept complaining in the last year people kept saying "If you don't like the game then go away". I always hated the fact that ZOS is always ready to create a 20$ DLC every 3 months but NEVER do what the users want or fix things. I love the fact that there are still the infinite loading screens (one of the reason that made me stop playing). And what about the barber shop? Jesus, you have only to show the character creation screen and change the "Create button" to bit different "Change button". You don't have to create 9999999999999999999 lines of code. Then why is it taking so long? Seriously, I can understand that people like this game, but you CAN'T defend it. I hope that at least the gear balance problem is fixed now.

How about the recent Thieves guild patch? That made the game worse. How about orsinium? That made the game worse. I know because they constantly screw something up. Do you understand what game development actually entails? I'm pretty sure they have a dedicated team trying to pinpoint the causes of the lag issues and they're probably stressed beyond belief trying to deliver it in a timely manner. Sometimes creating a patch to fix an issue can take a massive amount of time as they first need to find out what the cause of the issue is, then they need to actually fix it.
Any major fix to the game first has to then be tested extensively to make sure it doesn't produce knock on issues or to determine if it actually fixes the issue completely.
I'm pretty sure in the case of this fix ZOS doesn't want to just apply a band-aid and spot fix it, only to find out the next time they release a DLC that the issue re-emerges and throws the community into a frenzy again.
What we can do is try to assist ZOS by giving them detailed reports of happenings within Cyrodill and providing them with useful information to attempt to fix the issue. Not create forum threads that just lead to toxicity within the community and specifically flame ZOS for 'not fixing' the issue.

I agree with you but more than half of this thread is filled with people who just want to hate on ZOS. God forbid an MMO has bugs. Especially when a new DLC is released.
