Hi there,

I followed the main storyline exploring the ebonheart pact during cadwells gold. In the town ebonheart, during the quest "restoring order" I am ordered by the mayor Drathus Othral to search Rhavil Urano's House.

The door of this house is locked and needs to be forced open unless you have lockpicking skills.

After enterening my char got the achievement "trespassing" ... .

Now, I am wondering how activities ordered by the legal authorities can be related to crimes. Could anyone pls explain this to me? Obviously I did send in a ticket, but the support wasn't able to answer my question or provide any information from third party websites that explains this curiosity.

Adding to this I really would like to know, wether those of you that did the quest before the justice system was introduced got rewarded retroactively for following the main questline? My second char doesn't seem to have obtained this achievement.

Finally, did you notice any other quest within the main storyline of the 3 fractions that now reward achievements related to the justice system or the thiefs guild achievements?

Thank you and have a great day!

In most main story quests you are acting as a kind of secret agent. Sometimes the story says this outright, like when you are working with Narya. Sometimes it is implied. Ask yourself why the mayor didn't just call the guards to break down the door? Urano didn't invite you in, the door was locked, so yes you were trespassing.

In terms of game mechanics there are a few instances I've come across where doors were locked and you had to break open, and then the Justice system came out and now you get legerdemain points for opening that door and a trespassing achievement (if you didn't already have it.)

If you are roleplaying a character that never breaks laws I can see your issue, but in-game you are kind of being "James Bond" and sometimes you are going to kill people on orders, burn things down, break into houses, and flirt with people in taverns.

well, he did send the guards ... after waiting for ~24hrs for them to show up i decided its best to do the thing myself...They did show up when i left the house, tho.

No, he never invited me... I was ordered to search the house. I am not sure about your country, but where I live, if legal bodies are ordered to do a search a building they are not criminalized for trespassing.

Exactly, and I feel it is quite unfair to treat players differently. Sure I got the worse for my 2 chars. The one not acting as a criminal got criminalized and the other with "sticky finger habits" and low ethic standards didn't get this achievement. however, I was just curious wether i am the only one bothered by these unnannounced and unexpected changes and if i can expect even more unpleasant surprises

Well, ESO is an multiple player online RPG and not an MMO ... so one should not be to suprised to have a playerbase intersted in playing roles, right?
