Group chat bug

This is a problem some friends and I discovered yesterday.

If you are in a group with someone, but they have no location in the party (i.e. the location is blank) you cannot see anything they type in group chat. You can see what they type in whisper, guild, officer, say, zone and yell though. This bug usually only occurs when you are not in the same zone as your party members, but can also happen if you are in the same zone as someone, but not close to them. Leaving and rejoining group does not always fix the issue.

It has already caused some confusion between people I usually play with and since doing feedback ingame seems to have no effect I decided to make a thread about it.

I second that. It lasted some time until I found out, I can't read the messages from them, but they can read mine.
Example: they're in Auridon and I'm in Abahs landing. I logged out completely, deactivated addons and still could provoke it immediately after I got back to Abahs landing.

EDIT: I've sent feedback about this problem.

Yeah I feel like the fact that a lot of people don't even know about the problem will hinder the speed at which it is resolved. I have experienced a lot of confusing situations because of this, like having to whisper every single member of a trial group the teamspeak info because none of them can see my group message...

I think it's a bug that affects everyone on the PC megaservers as far as I know.

Yes, there is a bug with console chat also. The whole text chat seems to be bugged because 1) it's non-existent and 2) it is for some reason replaced by all these voices making juvenile, racist, and chauvinistic comments.

So yeah, text chat is bugged.

It might be because they are different faction and maybe you can only see what others can say in the areas that people can meet up at in group like dungeons. Thing of it is we can cross faction talk with guild chat and whispers on pc. They might have put up a system that makes it so we can't talk to each other in group when not in an area together. Which might not even be a bug =( without telling us about it but it might just be a bug.
With luck it will be fixed.

Well basically they said they are going to add it later on possibly with dark brotherhood, thing of it is they are only adding it because of the demands of the player base and its the only way to shut up the playerbase about this issue. Because they were getting hammered with requests for it most likely, and it was the only way to deal with this situation.

Thing is for some reason they don't want to add text chat to consoles because they want consoles to have a console like experience. As soon as they add text chat most might be switching to it and won't use the fancy voice chat system they put in. PC does not have in game voice chat basically players use out of game sources for voice chat for pc. Making it a console only feature that is it implemented into the console game to replace text chat all together. So basically Pc mains on text chat and consoles main on voice chat currently.

So in order for people to have voice chat on pc they have to use an out of game source for it and its required for some groups in pvp. Consoles are not as lucky because they are limited and possibly would not have a good out of game text chat option that people can join. Hopefully they will give consoles text chat soon.

Well pc has benifits and if you want text chat right now then you need to play on pc version, I will only stick with pc since I don't have any of the new consoles they released nor do I want to play this on a console anyways.
