Question: Expanding Armor transmutation. (Changing appearence).

I wasn't sure where to exactly post this suggestion/idea, but this seemed like the best place.

So I'm aware that with the Imperial Edition upgrade, you are able to change your armor to look like the Imperial style. But I was wondering, why can't we get this feature expanded so that we could change our gear into other styles of armor? For example I've been trying to get the Malubeth headgear for my Tank from Vet wayrest. I LOVE the effect, perfect for my tank. But the appearance...? Lets just say I won't be turning off the 'hide helmet visual' option. Ever.

Like a lot of people though, I'm crazy for all the different Style Motifs, my current armor is a mixture of Imperial, Daedric, Xivkyn, Altmer & Glass and I've got it looking exactly how I want it, and I'm very reluctant to change any of it... So my suggestion is to add in the option to change armor appearance of one item to another of our choosing. For example I would change the Malubeth helmet to look like my Glass helmet that I'm using. (Once I get it that is... Seriously I swear that place hates tanks, I've run that dungeon 20 times now with my usual squad and almost every time, one of them other than me gets it, but I digress).
The feature could even require you to have the gear you want a piece of armor to look like with you and consume it upon applying the change. You could also restrict it to same armor class only, for example; You can only change a piece of heavy armor to look like another piece of heavy armor, the same for Medium and Light respectively, if there's some worry about misleading people in PvP about what armor class you're wearing.

Hope someone from ZOS will see this and I'm interested to hear others suggestions and feedback if anyone would like to share. :)

I think this is a fantastic idea and would hope to see this in the future. As you've already mentioned the mechanism to do this is in the game already, so it should be fairly easy to implement.

I love this idea. Back when I was still using footman's to tank, I had to run the boots for the setup I wanted to run but they looked so ugly I always used a costume to hide them. I would of loved to be able to change them to imperial heavy boots, but I couldn't because they were considered a unique item..

The same idea could maybe be used for weapons too? Would be nice to switch up a weapons appearance without having to go out and craft a new one, then upgrade it to gold quality, spending large amounts of gold or time in the process, just to change how it looks. (And then there's the weapon enchantments to think about too, ugh.)

Yes I would love this! With all the new styles coming out it'd be nice to not have to use so many tempers and mats just to make the new motifs I've found.

And as for the point about people wanting to know exactly what you're wearing so as not to be misled... we already have costumes to cover everything we have underneath, this doesn't really change anything. A lot of people I know who wear costumes do so to cover up their armor because they've either gotten tired of the style they made or hate the look of their dropped sets (or are like me, using it to cover up the visual effect of Bound Abomination on sorcerers!).

It has been mentioned before, many times...

Yes, we would love to have an "transmogrification" feature that allowed us to change any armor or weapon appereance to any learned style.
It could be a function unlocked upon mastering a craft skill...
...it could require a but of materials, like style materials, possibly level-specific crafting materials and tempers as well,
...it could perhaps have a destruction chance just like temper improvements, which might be migrated by using more materials...
...it could even require some extra-special "transmog" material that is rare to find in game (like, say, perfect roe, or nirncrux) to lure impatient people into buying it from the crown store (because ideas that increase the profit for ZOS are more likely to get implemented after all)

But most important, it should be an option! Because it would really be great if we could have a bit more freedom in our appereance options...

This. A million times this. I would be okay paying some cost to change the appearance of my equipment, seems only fair given how you have to pay the extra money for the Imperial Edition to have the option to change appearances. That's just how badly I don't want to have that Malubeth helmet on display, lol.
