Transmutation Set 5pc improvement

Here we have an interesting and likely underused set (all the hype on Vicious Derp set). The 5 pc reads "When you heal an ally with a healing over time effect, grant them XXXX resistance to critical hits for 2 seconds. (XXXX = depending on level/upgrade quality)

Now obviously this isn't so good in a large zerg, but it is pretty easy to spam Mutagen and put a HoT on allies as a support healer.

The problem is that the initial tick gives the buff, but not subsequent ticks, at least as far as the animation (swirly rings) and tooltip is concerned. (Have not yet tested it in live combat.) Reading this, I am led to believe ALL HoT ticks originating from the set owner should proc the 5pc, so on one person you can keep the proc up easily 100% of the time by recasting mutagen every ~15 seconds. It should be noted that weapon swapping (on the person affected by the HoT) can cause the buff and swirly rings to return. (This is inconsistent though, works about 80% of the time.)

Also it doesn't give you the proc at all, even though in many cases tooltips that read "ally" also include the caster.

Some clarification from a dev about this set would be nice, including which parts are bugs and which are intended.

Edit: Clarified but it is now to my knowledge that it does NOT proc at full hp, which it should. (A proactive defense from healers, to reduce those 2shot crit burst builds.)

NA-PC

Kaineth - Stamina Nightblade (Weakest Player Ever!)
Elena Stormwood - Magicka Sorcerer (vMA no Death 12/21/15 Score 401148)
Sheila Feyrondas - Magicka Dragonknight Tank (Frost staves are gonna be fun!)

I do get the buff myself and any tick of mutagen/rapid regen refreshes it not just the first. The trick to the set is that your health has to be below 100% for it to proc just like Bogdan. It doesn't count overhealing as healing. IMO, it should work like spell power cure.

One other issue I run into is that it will sometimes stop proccing and I have to take a piece of the set off and put it back on for it to start back working.

OK that could explain weapon swap causing it to proc (change in max hp). However it SHOULD still work at max hp, not doing so is pretty lame, all things considering. (Alot of crits are when you are at full hp, gankers galore!)

I've tested it pretty thoroughly for the last few days. Any change in health can make it proc. So things like War horn, swapping to a bar with different health, food, ect. You just have to not be at 100% health for it to proc.

I agree and would like to see the set improved by changing it to take overhealing into account just like spell power cure.

I'm assuming templar class HoTs also proc? Purifying ritual for example.

Yes healing ritual also procs it as long as the target is below 100% health.

Having it proc if the target is at full health would require reducing the chance it would proc.

Guaranteed proc would require the hot to actually heal.

50% chance it procs (for a 1 second duration) it procs off hot if target is at full health

33% chance it procs (for a 1 second duration) from any hot regardless of targets health.

Something like those options is probably what the devs pondered when building this set.

Besides, it's only helpful if the target is taking damage. The current design works well.
