Everyone's talking about the big issues and all that, so I'm not gonna go and beat the thousand dead horses all lying around here. But this is something that came up while chatting with some of my guildies. For some areas, especially certain delves and quest dungeons, there are some interesting lore tidbits in the load screen 'tips' at the bottom. A lot of these can't be gleaned anywhere else in the game and can provide some nice context for lorehounds. Especially for Argonian and Khajiit players - whose lore is already a skeleton compared to Dunmer, Imperial, and Nord lore - these little scraps are great to digest while questing!
The problem is that more than half the time you get about halfway through reading the information before it suddenly changes to "DID YOU KNOW YOU CAN BUY NEW MOUNTS IN THE CROWN STORE?!" "DID YOU KNOW HEALTH POTIONS ARE RED?!" "DID YOU KNOW SWORDS ARE POINTY?!"
I've been playing the game almost non-stop (not literally, for you smart-allecks about ready to snark it up) since launch day. I was even playing before then in all the beta weekends from the November before. I'm pretty sure I know the differences between heavy, medium, and light armor by now. Or the difference between green and blue quality items. What I might not have picked up, however, are those little nuggets of lore that long-time fans like me always enjoy stumbling across.
Some sort of little option somewhere for lore-only load screen tips would be nice for those of us who know the game mechanics inside and out but still enjoy learning new bits of lore. It's something small, but would just be a nice little thing to see. And I figure it's something other than Hew's Bane FPS threads.
