Without a doubt. IMO, (from an AD POV) the kind of unorganized open field fights we sometimes see between Nikel and Ash and Sej and BRK are what most players seem to enjoy.
I see the server lag issue differently than most people. I do not see it as a technical problem. I see it as a game design problem. The game designers have designed gameplay the underlying technology cannot support. No matter how good (or bad) the underlying technology may be, game designers cannot exceed its limitations.
Changing the technology is difficult and expensive. Changing the gameplay is not.
This stems from the fact we play PVP with abilities designed for a 4-12 player instanced PVE console game. (hence radius/smart buffs and heals). Obviously ZOS has an ideological goal to maintain as much concurrency between PVE and PVP as possible. This approach is not viable and has never worked. IMO, PVP needs its own distinct ruleset and abilities adapted to PVP gameplay.
I been offering so many times good solution to this> friendlyfire, but so many ap farmer/small scaler whatever else they are called are so scared, i guess why they scared is that those so called zergers who were originally blamed for lagg are mostly using single targe skills which means, friendlyfire would not be affecting them too much. while aoe blobbers they actually have to learn to PVP not just gank> jump out of bush with deto, sap essence, and all those other nice skills blazing into blob to watch them all melt, since thats elite gaming in modern world> aoe spam.

As appealing as it is that would unfortunately open so much griefing. I've always thought something funny ZOS could do on like April Fools is turn on friendly fire for just the day xD.

AoEs are what gives small groups power against the zergs. A zerg equipped with only single target spells would be impossible to kill with anything other than a LOT of siege because their single target pew pew will be greater than smaller groups'.

Hmm then why do zerg befit most form AOEs than the small and medium groups that they were apparently designed for then ? Because they simply have more ? Is that why? If that's the case take away AoEs stop zergs from having a power but oh wait that would ruin small groups.
See the endless cycle of stupidity that is PvP ? Buff small groups and zergs become even stronger nerf zergs and small groups are doomed to be powerless. That is ZOS problem here which ask me is a pretty tough one to solve.
