Hello as of Thieves Guild update I cant play this game no more on my laptop. I contacted support and they say I need a new Graphic Card. My question is which Graphic Card should I get. My Laptop is HP EliteBook 8530W and I don't know what GPU can I use.

Here is the pic of Laptop http://17c4dcd7f91259d8cc66-f5932f6db0039e8c02f89a70c334ff0e.r2.cf1.rackcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/37446.jpg .

Please help me select a new Graphic card so I can enjoy this game again. Thank you in advance since I am not too good with knowledge about Laptops I hope you can recommend some GPU´s that can run this game(Just run I don't mean to play it in High sett. or anything I just want to play this game and my budget isn't that great HAHA ! ! !)

Laptops have the gpu built right on the main board. Its not something you can remove and replace.

I can definitely change it. Its not on motherboard, it is removable I even asked HP Support. I have Nvidia quadro GPU which is not integrated . its in the slot a lot like Desktop PC under.

Show the recommended specs for the game to your supplier, stressing that the card must be DX11 compliant, and ask what they recommend, ensuring that the rest of your system is adequate.

Thank you Tandor I will try that.

While it is technically correct the video card can be replaced there are other things to consider. Like power consumption, heat etc. So while yes it can technically be taken out and replaced there are no dx 11 cards which will work in that laptop. Google it if you dont believe me.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Thank you Nestor I was just searching the net and there seems to be a few GPU that can work with 8530W I will go to the store and ask the people there about more info and what should I do. I was hopping someone already done something like this so could tell me a few GPU that can run on this Laptop with no problem.

you will waste too much money if you upgrade, buy a new proper gaming laptop with gtx960m or 970m and you're good for years of gaming

    This.

Don't waste money on a new GPU when you can get something all round better performance wise and without driver, heating and power issues.

That being said, I abhor laptops being used for gaming, precisely because games like MMOs are resource intensive and can blow laptop components from a lack of good air circulation. I recommend just getting a desktop for serious gaming and use a laptop only for work, leisure and browsing the net. Even gaming laptops are a bit iffy for me. With a PC, if a component does fail I can easily swap it out, while I don't have that access in laptops, especially integrated graphics and processing.

Yeah, I'll chime in on the "replace the laptop, or get a desktop" train.

It's true though. Upgrading your laptop is a stop gap measure at best. You'll increase the wear and tear on your system, and possibly destroy it from the additional thermals. Replacing the laptop is an option, but for what you'd spend, you could get a much nicer desktop.

Now, that said, having lived out of a suitcase for years when I was younger, I certainly know what it's like to not have the option of a Desktop system, but, if it is an option, you're better off going that route.

Laptops are waste, for the same price you can get a much better computer and it last MUCH longer.
