Why would they do that? The whole point of the respec system is that it removes gold from the game. If you give out free respecs that defeats the purpose. Like I said above nothing was changed so drastically you need to reset every single aspect of every single character you have. If you want to do that fine but it costs gold or crowns.
It was simply a suggestion; we started off with free, mandatory respecs, but enough people complained that they stopped doing that.
With a consumable, the people who want the free respec get one, and those who don't can simply either destroy the consumable, or toss into storage. Everyone's happy.
Why not have them mail us all 2 mil gold why they are at it? If you dont want the gold just delete it right?
...I don't think you can delete gold. At least not short of buying something like the Metheric Resins and deleting those...0 -

I have 2 accounts and play a lot of nightblades, all of them have dark cloak on their skill bar. Since there has been a significant change regarding this skill I'd rather take the other morph now so besides CP I also have to reskill them
Edit: Just reskilled one of my chars in game and realized you can choose to only reskill morphs which is way cheaper than I expected. So I guess it's just cp costs that are in issue after all

film✭✭✭Although, I didn't see the QQ in the forums at the time to lead to this decision I do think the in-game complaining I heard would have all been solved if ZOS addressed certain issues like by making the respec not auto (a scroll for each character in the mail), adding an in-game and patch notes reminder about the free respec, and staying consistent on the approach of these issues.

They already said that they are working on a way to do this similar to what you describe. It obviously was not ready for Thieves Guild. (Edit: and obviously, we do not know what they are actually going to roll out)

kiddafinlay✭✭Respec everything imo is not a lot of coins for people on higher levels it is fair to say though lower levels may find over 6000 to do everything is no small amount. I am still learning even though my character is CP 209 so I need to respec everything and do not have a problem paying over 6000 to do it but would if I had a full 8 characters to change I intend to get it right and only do it one though.0

✭✭✭✭✭All they had to do was lower the cost of the respec down to like 1 gold for a while. If you wanted to reassign points, it would only cost you one gold. If you didn't want to reassign, you wouldn't have to. That would have made both sides happy, and in my opinion, that's what they should have done since the changes were major.
