I had a chipmunk once - was a really nice one, but it was so attracted to any kind of electric cable and I had to check them anytime, when he was back in his "residence" to sleep. That silly guy had as well the habit to climb into a stereo set and get stuck between the boards - and I had to screw it out of those and free him. Not to talk about that he made a mess in the room - every food item was transported to the highest location in the room and then he started to eat and make a mess everywhere.
I still loved him to bits. He had a very strange death - one morning I did not hear him drumming - he tended to drum on hollow wooden piece in his "residence", when he wanted me to open the cage door and let him out. He as well stubbornly insisted in the evening, that I close the cage door before he goes to sleep - if I forgot about that, he kept drumming until I did that.
Well, he died standing upright in his residence - like he would be a stuffed exhibition piece - totally stiff - never understood how this could have possibly happened.Edited by Lysette on March 21, 2016 9:55PM1 -

Yeah I know about that but if he is talking about licking poison dart frogs even though they are non-toxic in captivity I still wouldn't risk that. What happened @rotaugen4540 -

I had a chipmunk during my high school time. He lived to be 8 years old and dominated our daily life.
Once a day we freed him from the cage for an hour free roaming through our living room.
All plants were relocated to another room every day, because he was very eager to dig into the earth pots.
No cable was, like yours, safe for him. And in spring time he made a hell of a noise whistling to attract females and he nibbled on the backsides of books to gather material for his nest.

This is the last dog I had. She passed in 2008 and I have not brought myself to get another one. My work schedule has recently changed so that a dog can be in the cards again.
Anyway, the look she is giving me is to wonder why the car is not moving and why she is not in my lap which was her favorite place to be when going on rides.Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

He was born along with 10 brothers and sisters in a spare bedroom in my house. Lost his sister about 4 years ago.
He's been going downhill pretty quickly lately, he'll be joining her across the Rainbow Bridge, soon.

Oh wow, gorgeous Springer! Our last 2 dogs were Springers, brother and sister, sadly had to get them put to sleep within about 6 months of each other 7 years ago. They lived til about 13, so had a good life. Amazing dogs Springers, with endless energy, love them immensely.0 -
