I have successfully figured out what causes the client crashes

  1. Walking
  2. Jumping
  3. Activating any ability, including one that activates as a passive
  4. Logging into the game
  5. Using/installing any addons
  6. Standing in place and doing nothing
  7. Reducing your graphics to minimum despite having a GTX 970
  8. Engaging in any activity in any place in the world, especially with others

All in all, if you avoid the aforementioned, you should be good! :)

Use the 32bit client until they fix 64?

Pretty much is mandatory for me also

Tried to use the 64-bit, my FPS drops to around 20 while the 32-bit I stay around a steady 100. I don't understand why it has a big jump.

The 32 bit client crashes just as often, in my experience.

32 bit client has other issues as well - like, you login to the character selection screen - if you are lucky all is ok so far, if not, you have lag on the character selection screen already. But even if that is ok, there is a chance, that when you login to the game world, that you will have the drop to 10 fps - but it could as well go right and be normal - that is what I experience with it.

Master merchant and awesome guild store add-ons are probably causing that.

I have none of those - just mini-map and harvester add-on - but that is as well the case, when I disable all add-ons.

Edit: that perma-drop to 10 fps is especially nasty - given that I can normally play with 45-75 fps with all graphics high. It is a bit random - even when I reboot my system it can happen or not.

They should just give up on the 64 bit like they gave up on spell crafting

Haha a friend of mine is a smoker - on his packs there is an imprint like "smoking can cause death" - he made a label below it saying "and life does".

You'd think that something as simple as '32 bit' or '64 bit' would be easy for them to understand, but you should also never get your hopes up these days. You can't launch an MMO and have virtually no understanding of the difference between 32 and 64 bit machines :|

    Don't give up 64bit - keep trying :).
Today I started with 2 crashes one by one in 5 minutes, then started with 3-rd login and played for about 6 hours without a break and game didn't crash.
So keep trying and don't give up B) .

Ah and don't let others/zos argue with you, that your computer is a culprit. It's the game!

I'm using the 32 bit and it doesn't ever crash for me. I also have no lag or other issues. The only thing that changed performance-wise for me at all since the DLC was the character load times, which have become a little longer than they used to be. Doesn't bother me too much though.

I also have yet to talk to anyone I know that has crashing issues such as you seem to have... so this problem might be on your end.

Honestly it's the 64 bit with the least crashes for me. I simply could not get 32bit to work for Maw of whatever. crashed about 14 times on it before I just switched to 64 bit and then I was free and clear.

Right, the sticky'd post at the top of this forum along with the several hundred comments are completely our fault. You're totally right.

I'd read through a chunk of that but it seemed like most of the issues were related to specific scenarios (PvP, certain group instances, etc) or using the 64 bit client. I didn't see a whole lot of people complaining about crashes while not doing these (and from your post I'm assuming it just happens constantly no matter where you are), aside from some with addon issues that were resolved and some that resolved it following advice on changing some computer and game settings.

My apologies if this is not the case and it is just crashing constantly for some people regardless of where they are. Seems quite odd that so many people are unaffected. There must be some connection somewhere. I hope you sent in a ticket as the thread requested so perhaps they can figure out that connection and fix it.
