hello while the servers are down i figure this would be a good time to give my feedback on my experience as a new player to this game:
- There is very limited amount of weapons you can use in this game, I saw NPCs using spears, but I cannot use them? I want to use 1 handed sword only, I can't.
- As a new player I cannot auction my items off at any marketplace, unless I join a guild. I don't want to join a guild.
**snip** *snip**- leveling speed is too fast early on, i'd prefer it to be slower.
**snip** snip**- the bounty system is good but the penalty for bounties is not enough, a guard running up to you asking for money then walking away is kinda lame, i'd prefer some sort of jail system for immersion or people that track you down trying to go after your bounty, like bounty hunters not guards.
- there needs to be a way to rearrange the hud , such as moving the health bars closer to the edge of the screen and the compass up or down lower on the screen, the compass being up top sort of is in the way of the view constantly, while at the bottom it wouldn't be blocking anything but the floor which nobody looks at anyway.
**Snip** **Snip**- the crown shop is very limited and as a new player I have 2000 crowns but no idea what to buy with them, i wish you would add more content to the cash shop.
- also I wish you could craft in the wild, start camp fires, have tents, maybe some sort of survival system or a zone where you have to survive the environment, maybe some stuff like making a bow, animal hides, crafting throwing spears from wood stuff like that,
anyway thats my feedback
just some more things to point out after playing some more:
- moving forward with bow in first person causes awkward animation
- cannot use alchemy to make poisons
- player's cant use torches
- cannot mute the annoying sounds other player's pets make
- water doesn't have current
- cannot hide shoulder slots- having heavy shoulders ontop of medium chest piece causes the armor to float in midair
- drinking alcohol/ using skooma effects not present
- needs option to transition to third person for animations like logging/mining the same way skyrim would
- needs option to disable bonus leveling exp from eso plus
- Bug with transitioning to areas forcing you into third person and no way to go back to first person
- cant shoot birds with bow
i really wish there was a way to make my character level slower, because i keep overleveling for the areas im in, and then i end up getting no loot from any monsters or things like the anchor events when i'm still not finished all the quests in the area

I think many players (myself included) would like to see more weapon skill lines implemented at some point, and given enough time they probably will, but they already have a ton of other things they are working on before they would get to that, and need to get things a bit more balanced before adding new skills.- As a new player I cannot auction my items off at any marketplace, unless I join a guild. I don't want to join a guild.
As somebody else pointed out, that is by design to make it more difficult for players to monopolize the market. While I didn't like it at first, I've gotten used to it and actually prefer it over an auction house. I would definitely recommend joining a couple trading guilds, even if you're not big on the social side of this game. I've been a member of 3 trading guilds for over a year now and don't think I've ever spoken to another member of the guild. If you're on PC NA server, send me a private message on the forums and I can invite you to one of the guilds I'm in.- New player zones such as dragon roost , i think its called, has no access to a lot of things in the game such as thief guild entrance or crafting trainers until much further into the island
While I can't say for certain, I'd imagine this is also by design to help ease players into the many different systems in ESO without having people become overwhelmed with all the different things you can do.- As a khajit I ended up in the high elf starting area, rather than dragon roost, where most khajit npcs are. I did not have a choice about this, and had to ask other players to explain it to me.
The high elf starting area (I assume you are referring to Auridon) is the first "real" zone for the AD faction, with Khenarthi's Roost being more of an optional "tutorial" zone for new players. Also, your race doesn't effect which zone you start in, all players in the same alliance will start in the same zone regardless of race.- Class system seems to just inherently give you access to skills and magic spells with no training and no knowledge or anything, it would be more immersive if you could learn the abilities from npcs.
I could understand wanting this perhaps the first time through, but by the time you are on your 8th character and just want to hurry up and level up it would be a real pain having to go find an NPC for each skill you want to unlock. You gain experience in a skill line anytime you do something that grants XP (finishing a quest, killing a mob, etc.) and have at least one skill from that skill line on your bar. The more skills you have on your bar, the more XP you get for that skill line too (for instance, if having 1 bow skill on my bar grants me 100 XP for killing a mob, then having 2 skills would grant 200 XP, 3 skills would grant 300 XP, etc.). So leveling up skill lines does require "training" in the sense that you need to be using the skill line to get XP.- There are no animations for looting corpses or skinning animals, its just a ui prompt. it'd be more immersive with just a simple pick up animation, or skinning animation.
No argument here. Would be a nice feature but would also be very low on their list of priorities.- leveling speed is too fast early on, i'd prefer it to be slower.
I do disagree with this one. Since I primarily PVP, leveling is only a chore to get to the content I want to do. But this really comes down to personal preference. I know some people have come up with the idea of adding a consumable that slows XP gains. While I don't see them doing that anytime soon, I would completely support them adding something like that to the game. Also note that your ESO+ membership does increase your XP gain making you level up quicker.- when i first got the game, i signed up for ESO plus without knowing really what were the benefits, if I knew , i would not have signed up. The benefits aren't enough, if I sign up i'd like some sort of exclusive content or quests or system within the game, that makes it worth subscribing, a 10% buff is not what I'd want.
You do get access to all the DLC without having to buy it as long as your are an ESO+ member. There has also been talk about them adding some additional perks to ESO+ to make it more rewarding.- Bag space is a huge issue, the game never explained to me about bag space, I had to ask other players once again to understand you can upgrade it.
100% agree. Inventory management in this game is completely atrocious. Luckily, one of the perks for ESO+ they plan on adding is a crafting bag that'll allow you to consolidate all your crafting materials without taking up space in your inventory.- I really enjoyed the thief additions to the game, stealing items and dealing with guards is very fun, i hope you add more aspects to the game like that. Perhaps some sort of fishing skill tree, with boats and such? I noticed I did not gain provisioning skill from fishing.
I imagine they will add more interesting game systems in the future, but again they already have a long list of things to complete over the next couple quarters. ZOS has also said they plan on adding player housing in the not-so-distant future.- the bounty system is good but the penalty for bounties is not enough, a guard running up to you asking for money then walking away is kinda lame, i'd prefer some sort of jail system for immersion or people that track you down trying to go after your bounty, like bounty hunters not guards.
They were originally supposed to add an enforcer system to the justice system, where other players could pursue players who were caught stealing or murdering, but too many people complained that they didn't want to be able to be killed by other players, so ZOS recently decided to scrap it. Personally, them deciding not to add this second part of the justice system was a huge disappointment, but ultimately they went with what they thought would make the most players happy.- there needs to be a way to rearrange the hud , such as moving the health bars closer to the edge of the screen and the compass up or down lower on the screen, the compass being up top sort of is in the way of the view constantly, while at the bottom it wouldn't be blocking anything but the floor which nobody looks at anyway.
I agree that ZOS really dropped the ball on options for customization, but if you are on PC there are a ton of addons that not only give you more control of the interface, but also work much better then the original interface anyways!- this game needs to open up user created content , allow modders to improve upon the game and the players to vote for the improvements, or some sort of feature survey where players can vote for what they want next to be added to the game. similar to steam workshop.
If you are on PC there are addons available for just about anything you could imagine. This website is a great place to start.- the crown shop is very limited and as a new player I have 2000 crowns but no idea what to buy with them, i wish you would add more content to the cash shop.
Don't worry, the cash shop is one of the primary ways ZOS gains revenue, they will always continue to add new stuff there.- also I wish you could craft in the wild, start camp fires, have tents, maybe some sort of survival system or a zone where you have to survive the environment, maybe some stuff like making a bow, animal hides, crafting throwing spears from wood stuff like that,
As I've said before, an interesting idea I wouldn't be opposed to, but they have far too many other things to work on to even begin planning something like this.
anyway thats my feedback
