The nature of buffs

I got to thinking about this over the weekend, and felt a little bit unsure about the nature of buffs. My understanding is that there are major and minor buffs that abilities can grant the player. When I was examining the various buffs that my slotted abilities granted, I noticed there was some duplication from different abilities.
So is it true that you can only have 1 major buff at a time, and you can only have 1 minor buff at a time? But you can have a major and minor buff occurring at the same time? And, spamming an ability that has a major or minor buff does not in any way increase the power of the buff?

Wondering also if there are any good guides to the buff system that I could study?

Thanks!

You can only have one Major or one Minor Buff active at a time. You can't have the same buff effect, even if it comes from a different passive (or active) in effect at one time.

Buff abilities do not stack, you simply reset the timer if you spam the skill before the first timer runs out.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

    It works like this:
    • You can have an unlimited number of major buffs (or debuffs, for that matter) - but not the same major buff or debuff twice.
    • Same goes for minor buffs/debuffs.
    • You can have a buff/debuff in the major and minor version at the same time.

Yes, there is some redundancy between the skills in terms of the buffs they apply. No, you can't increase their effectiveness; they're either active, or not.
