Combat bugs: LA/all attacks not firing?

I've spent a few sessions in VMA since TG and have encountered two bugs that are very nasty and cause regular unavoidable deaths.

1) My light attacks will just not fire any more. This seems to fix itself after a while, but can reappear just as easily.
As far as I can tell this is not tied to having used Overload. It can happen while weaving normal light attacks and if it happens and you switch to Overload it will not fire either.

2) Sometimes my abilities and light/heavy attacks will animate, but not cause damage for several seconds/until death.
I first thought it was maybe because an NPC was dodgerolling but it has happened often enough so that I am sure that it's not that.

While the first one has been around before TG, I never noticed the second one before.

Has anyone else encountered these?

They seem to be very random, not tied to my own latency, but probably the server?
If I encounter one of them and keep playing, it is very likely to happen again and again, but if I just quit and try another day, I might not encounter them at all.

    Ever since they changed the animation priority, using light/heavy attacks, especially on a staff have been a nightmare. Especially the glitch where staff locks on to a target and keeps charging itself and won't let go unless you animation-cancel it, really messes up my rotation.

    I have been having trouble as well. Sometimes, the staff attacks just don't fire. The skill that I weave in with staff attacks fires off, but not the staff attack. I am also having trouble with overload. Sometimes the light attacks won't go off - my character just stands there and twitches. If I block and then retry overload, it fires again for a few seconds but freezes up again. I am also getting that old glitch where overload goes into heavy attack mode when I am trying to fire off light attacks. Again, I can block to stop this, but it keeps happening. As a result, I have not been using overload because it becomes a DPS loss with all the fiddling I have to do with it every couple of seconds just to keep it working. Very annoying. :(

    I was thinking - since animation cancelling is more of a glitch than a feature (even though they now call it a feature), I wonder if utilizing that glitch is causing unforeseen problems. The system now has to spend time calculating if the animation lasted long enough to register before it actually registers as a hit or not. I wonder, if they seriously reduce the animation time of light and heavy attacks, thus eliminating the animation cancelling part of it, will it make combat go smoother? For instance, say they reduce the animation to a half second - we would still get the fast paced combat that we do while animation cancelling, but now the system doesn't have to calculate if the animation lasted long enough. It seems to me like this would make things run smoother, but then again, I don't know anything about this stuff so I could be way off base.

    Good luck, light attacks misfiring and heavy attacks locking on have been on xbox since release and we still haven't gotten a fix. Maybe now PC is having trouble with it we might get some progress

    This is exactly what I mean with scenario no. 1.

    If this happens and you try to only light attack or switch to overload and try to attack then nothing will happen. But you will still be able to use skills.

    This issue seems to be different from the ability lockout ppl had where dodgerolling would make you able to cast again. When LA bug out it sometimes take 5 seconds or sometimes dying twice until it works again.

    Yeh I noticed this as well on my sorc when using a staff...yes talking pve here. The light or full heavy attack will play out the animation but not fire off the attack.

    Edit: Medium weaves work fine though.

    I have same issues especially when using my NB since TG I cant manage to weave medium fire attacks with funnel health because most of times the fire staff animation doesn't show.
