Don't listen to that other guy, the Wiki is not a good source as its pretty much fan-made, You can try the USEP for this sort of lore or the Imperial Library or you can even try TESlore Reddit which is a site where many aspiring Loremasters argue amonst them selves about the deepest aspects of ES lore and sometimes even the guy who wrote a large portion of it shows up there, much of this I have dissected and is the simplest way to explain it as it should be obvious..Go ask any "competent" person on ES lore and they will tell you that the dragonborn is infact a Dragon in Human form, Paarthurnax ingame even mentions the Dragonborn as being a Dragon, its the first thing he says when he asks you to shout fire at him as he says this is how 2 Dov meet.

As for my example I posted, ask yourself this...why is an "ash vampire" called a vampire at all? well their must be a reason and the reason is that they most likely feed off of the Heart of Lorkhan which would prove my point about the word vampire having a deeper meaning...my whole mentioning of that was to show that the word "Dragon" also had a deeper meaning.

I'm trying to resist giving my theory on the Dragonborn, so much right now.... but it would derail the thread too much. :/

I thought that UESP was considered a Wiki for some reason, always have but that's one of my main sources, whoops.
The other two Wikis aren't so great, but do provide some interesting facts/differing view not on UESP.
Rarely check those, but I do check the TESlore Reddit/Imperial Library. Best place imo for lore discussion plenty.

Of course I know much of the lore associated with the Ash King/Underking, Vehk, Seht, etc and who they are/might be. Should've thrown in the Mantela mentioning some of those names. There's a ton of different lore on them that differ. Would rather not branch off and cause us to talk for weeks on this though.

Michael Kirkbride did not outright give a description of accurate lore. He wrote up a new section of lore to add to the massive amount we already have, creating another point of view on this issue. There is a reason that the Imperial Library lists it in Obscure Texts rather than labeling it as 100% correct cannon.

This is the exact kind of TES lore stuff that contradicts itself on purpose. When it comes to lore regarding the origin of gods and such, multiple sources will do this. It makes things awesome! I recommend checking out the theory on Mehrune's relation to Magnus as well to see what you think.

Alduin is mentioned to be subordinate to Aka-tusk, which is the reason for him declaring himself the "First Born of Akatosh" title. He has also been mentioned as a shard of the Aka oversoul. Two conflicting views.

Alduin is a God, and if he is as powerful as he is claimed to be (defeated Leaper Demon King), should have no problem obliterating a Dragonborn (a complete joke to Alduin when restarting time "Kalpas") or anything else in his path when he is assuming the role of World-Eater. He literally eats the world. This includes mountains....

In Skyrim, he is basically being a total a**hole. He forsakes his role of World-Eater, and is not imbued with the unimaginable power he has when devouring the world. Rather, Alduin attempts to rule over the land and reinstate the dragons to rule over mortals again. During this time, he is an immensely powerful dragon with a few unique abilities (raise dead dragons, traveling to Sovngarde, etc). I should've been more clear, that during Skyrim's time period he was not a God. If considered a God, he is weak as the Tribunal were in Morrowind as compared to when they regularly tapped into the Heart of Lorkhan, in their prime.

EDIT: You can look through the three main Wikis and come to a consensus. They have most everything correct with as much info as the lore provides. You looked hard into the history of Alduin to write about this. Nice lol

What do you mean by the Nerevarine killing Gods? I remember slaying Almalexia and having the strength to kill Vivec. Dagoth Ur toys with you until he realizes what you're actually trying to do. You killed Gods, but never when they're witnessing their true power (exception of tricking Dagoth Ur).

Fun fact: I played TES II, III, IV, V, and ESO but didn't leave the first dungeon in Arena. Same as you.

At this point they should just remove the Dragon Knight class all together and make it a pet!

They existed in Skyrim but not here in this area. I've been recently playing Skyrim and that is what the local Nords tell my character. Mind you this game is set before the Dragon takeover so they are possibly hiding, secretly preparing for that takeover.

There is at least one dragon around this time period (or rather there will be; time is different and weird for dragons): Nafaalilargus.

With that said, as has previously been stated, dragons are effectively another sentient race. A very large, sentient race. The only reason Olaf One-Eye managed to keep Numinex as a "pet" was because Dragonsreach was originally created to capture and house a captive dragon.

I doubt it'll ever happen. I doubt it should ever happen. Just like with dragon mounts.

With that said, there's a technically unrelated species of creature called a "dragonling", which could work. They've not been seen in game since Daggerfall, which makes it all the more plausible they may add it in sometime.

Dragons in this timeline (2E 582 and onwards) has been driven into hiding after the aftermath of the Dragon War in the Merethic Era. Alduin was banished in a time wound and ended up in the fourth era, and the rest of the dragons where either killed or driven into hiding (such as Paarthurnax). So there aren't actually any dragons to spawn baby dragons from, and as such no base in the lore to have any dragon pets either.

True dragons don't actually breed. They're like daedra, they just sort of appear from the aether.
