    You're not doing it right.

A monkey can create a build to only tank and do no damage... Do you solo? I bet you run with 20+ like a girl.

    Negative? You mean like:

"A monkey can create a build to only tank and do no damage... Do you solo? I bet you run with 20+ like a girl."

I've already dignified this stupid thread with 2 responses more than it deserved.

Man i am still in PS4 weak as hell on my magicka DK with green and blue gear and my first vet character with hardly any CP only Vet 4. Dont have the physical resistance Hardy yet being on PS4 and none of the magicka buffs yet from the DLC. Literally 30 minutes ago, had a vet 16, stam DK try to gank me on my horse, then went werewolf on me. Fight lasted over a minute but i took his ass out. Rule #1, trust your gut on builds, yes read and learn from other great players but dont always follow the meta exactly. There are other builds that synergize incredible too that not many people run. But try and learn from other builds but make sure you always follow your instinct on your build. It may suck after trying it but then adjust. I am not near the build i want, but have an idea of it and wont exactly be the meta.

I know its frustrating and magicka DKs arent the strongest if you on Console, i have no clue yet after TG. But man its a fun class. Maybe look at somebody like @Etaniel on youtube who plays very well from the clips i have seen.

I'm leveling a Magicka DK. This is most likely not the case on PC, but it is actually very effective on PS4 (less so against 3+ people).

To console players, it is almost a foreign concept, a new class. Not many have seen a Magicka DK who can play the class and therefore have issues understanding what they need to do to counter them.

This won't last long though :(

Mag Dk is okish right now, on azura at least. Would be nice to buff whip damage in pvp only, but apart from that i'm having fun.
It cannot be seen, cannot be felt,
Cannot be heard, cannot be smelt,
It lies behind stars and under hills,
    And empty holes it fills,
It comes first and follows after,
    Ends life, kills laughter.

Magika DK are actually quite good now in PVP, even if the double reduction due to the battle spirit affect DK's the most.
Anyway you can be Tanky enough and DPS'ing enough to stay on your ground and kill someone, especially sorcerers that can be easily put off balance and vaporized with "Deep breath".
Usually a Group of 2 or 3 ppl is the best for a DK, you charge and get the attention while the others kill everyone, you use Embers + Draw essence + Talons to stay alive while doing a good amount of damage, AND Interrupting casters and rooting everyone near you.

@Tomato When you have 350+ CP and know what you're doing you can make any class work. Magicka DK gets some huge buffs in the Thieve's Guild patch for sure! I'm excited for that, not for the bugs the patch will offer though.....

If were lucky, people still won't reroll a Magicka DK and it'll still remain obscure to most. Not saying you or many forum users would be confused fighting a strong Magicka DK or can't play them, but apparently plenty on PS4 have issues with them. My own observations. Best case scenario Magicka DK is buffed and goes unnoticed in PvP

Everyone will use Detonation Nightblades and Glass cannon Sorcerers as a FOTM complaining when something kills them or screaming when they cannot kill a DK in 2 seconds ( we are not free AP anymore).

I saw plenty of Nb using Detonation + Ultimate + Vicious Death (like in one of the latest Sipher builds) getting wrecked by DK's, too many imho to get unnoticed.

Yeah. I've got some ideas for when my DK levels up more that should make him seriously strong. Trying to decide to turn Vampire for Bats or utilize Shifting Standard+Talons.

    The new meta consists of:
    1) Really bad Sorcs who go too much damage and not enough sustain (I've run so many Sorcs out of Magicka when I use my Sorc it has become a mini-game for me).
    2) Nightblades using the brutal combo of Viscous Death+Clever Alchemist+Soul Tether+Proxy Det+High damage Sap Essence on those who are still alive at like 10% health. Easy mode killing large amounts of players and gaining ridiculous AP. This is the definition of unbalanced.

Really? My magicka DK is now VR3 (Already got a tanky stamDK v16) and a AR 32 ganker in IC had to lure 6 mobs near me and stealth so I pick up all the aggro, and even then she BARELY won by the skin of her teeth. Not counting regular players, can chew them in packs without encountering resistance. And that's with average gear, 2.6k spell power and 33k magicka, 21k health - by no means good stats - but the utility, self heals, defended and DoTs a magicka DK has remains unmatched by any other class.

Magicka DK now after all the CP and skill changes is a formidable beast IF PLAYED RIGHT.

Your problem is the part I wrote in capitals sentence above, if you can't win with a magicka DK, you're doing it wrong.

    Sometimes, I dream about...cheese...

Dermont - v16 Pompous Altmer Sorcerer (With a very arrogant face!)
Egonieser - v16 Nord Stamina Dragonborn Wannabe
Endoly - v16 Tiny Redguard Sharpened MaceBlade
Egosalina - v16 Breton Cheesus Beam Specialist
Egowen - v16 Dunmer Whipping Expert (Riding crops eluded her)
(Yes, I had to grind all these to v16)
Akamanakh - lvl 22 Khajiit GankBlade (Inspired by Top Cat)
Targos Icewind - lvl 34 Imperial (Future) Jabplar
