ESO will pass even Star Citizen in game memory size

If we continue like that 10 freaking GB for a tiny area i have no doubt that it will soon go 120GB+ and many people will be forced to uninstall it

THe dlc is only 3Gb+. My Directory size is 47gb and something

I have a two terrabyte external HDD for my Xbox and even with several other games I've still only used 30% of the space.

Then again I'm guessing you PC people get much more graphical content than I do.

When there is 10gb download its not automatically 10gb for your hd.

Why would they have unlimited space?

I got the 500GB console which I quickly learned wasn't nearly enough since Xbox One games are required to be installed onto the disk to be played. And since these new fangled games are quite large, I ran out quickly so I had to pick up an external drive. What did you think Console games were streamed or something?

A lot of the 10gb you're downloading is overwriting data, you download 7gb of data that replaces 7gb of data you already have, and 3gb of new data.

And Yea, consoles install games now. No more running off the disk!

when speaking of memory i thought you meant like real memory,
Not Disk space,

Yeah disk space is not really an issue these days,
however i have noticed a huge increase in Memory usage of the new DLC,

Shot up from around 1.8gig to over 3 gig....

Zenni WTF!!!!

Also my bandwidth usage with the last patch has risen from around 500Mb a day to around 1.5gig.....

this depends on how much memory you have total, the more ram you have the more it will use to run ''better''

Stop using 1TB HHD's!

I have over 1TB of Steam games alone, 4TB of recorded HD game footage, tons of photos ect. I also have backups of essential things I think my total storage is something like : 16TB, of which around 8 is actively used the other 8 is not plugged in right now cause it's not needed or full...

Grow with the times, Age of Conan came out in 2008 and that game was about this size, we are talking 8 years later, you did not think in 8 years games and program sizes would increase?

Not sure if srs...

Dude, my PC only has a single Terrabyte of disk space and 597GBs of it are still free, and yeah I'm a Steam Gamer as well. Either you're just super pack ratty about gaming, or you're "fortunate" enough to not worry about affording all that space.

ESO is stored in chunk files (hovering around 150mb each), so when it updates I expect it redownloads some data already stored in the files it updates, meaning larger downloads than the new size.

Well considering my Pc has 5 hard disk slots and im currently only using 2x500GB SSD and 1x 1 TB HDD, I dont think ESO will ever get to the point where I have no space left on my PC.

If it ever gets to the point where I play more huge memory consuming games like other MMOs at the same time as ESO, I can just get a 16 TB and slot it in. For now Im perfectly happy with the storage I have as it suits my needs.

I don't really see this being an issue for PC users and buying space is so cheap now any way, even an SSD won't set you back that much.

Consoles who can't change their HDD (XBox right? as PS4 allows it IIRC) I can see having a problem as they will have less room for other games.

"Forced to uninstall ESO", really? Because the game might climb to a higher usage of storage space? Even if the game gets to 120 Gb of usage, it's still no problem since even most laptops come with a native 500 Gb of storage, and with the rise of external storage such as cloud storage and external drives, storage space is far from any issue.

But I guess there's an build in necessity to "beat down" on everything with ESO these days, and when you run out of "things to beat", you drag the horse along with you until you figure out something

When the game gets updated the changes they make completely replace a file instead of just editing it. So if they fixed a big texture file or audio file the entire thing gets replaced which can make these updates much bigger than they should be.

You can also add an external hard drive to the Xbox One, so storage should not be a serious problem on either console.

47.7gb. Was joking about the game size in another discussion the other day, about ESO being around in ten years time & needing a 1 TB drive just for this game.
